I understand your point of view PA but I'm glad I have me a guy who's an exception to all that. I don't claim to know this much on the subject and I'm afraid I can only comment from what I've noticed. I have not had enough partners to know whether it's a common or uncommon occurrence, but I'll vouch that if it was a common occurrence, we'd see a lot more of it in porn, because, admit it, it's hot.

The fact that your couple has honed it into a fine art is great for your sex life and testifies that it does happen. But I wonder how long it would take for any new partner of yours to ejaculate that way if you hadn't worked on it first.

The original poster's rather naive question was whether is was a "must". I don't see how it can be a "must" if it's not that easy to achieve, especially with a stranger, or a new partner. I think ability to do this may also be linked to age and how sensitive your genitals are to something like this and probably all of your personal wiring.
