Best Lube for anal?

I'm looking for a better lube than I used to use with my ex (K-Y) to make sex more enjoyable for my current boyfriend. The main letdown with KY is that it dries out too quickly, and that we would have to frequently stop and reapply. I'm looking for a cost effective, long lasting, water based lubricant that can get the job done and not make too much of a mess. If anyone has some suggestions and would like to send them my way, it will be much appreciated

Try to find out what lubricant is used by the manufacturers of condoms - those condoms are some amazingly silky goodies, right there - and, even ask those manufacturers what they would recommend.

Joshua, you should try to get a pack of samples, I think some online stores or street stores provide them. This would be a way for you to try out different kinds and see which one you prefer. Puur is very silky and long lasting, others that are glycerine based can be quite sticky, but aren't necessarily a bad choice if you like that. Liquid Silk is also a creamy looking alternative. Not sure what brands you can get in the US. It is true that K-Y jelly is no good for anal sex, it dries out too quickly and then the condoms might get uncomfortable. Try to see what they're using in porn movies (if you watch them). I would suggest getting something with a pump, though, because it's easier to use when you need more.

if you're using condoms it has to be a water-based lubricant. oil-based lubricants damage the condom.
