Can't really comment, I've honestly not read any of his books, but I do recall that I stopped reading The Witching Hour because it gave me the chills too much, only book I think I've found THAT scary....

Yes and no. Or no and yes. I don't live in the moment that much anymore (used to, and kinda wish I still could), but I'm a very loving person. The world is a nice place filled with nice people.

Oh, and I haven't read King. I just watched the movie "Secret window" which is based on his book and I hid under a blanket for maybe half of the movie.
