That silly movie scared me as a youngin. Watching it more recently I had no idea why because nothing happens for 90% of the movie and hilarity happens for 10% of it.

"Nekkid" is how southerners in the US apparently pronounce naked. It's not a countrywide thing. Mind you, having lived in the south my entire life, I've always heard southerners say naked with a heavy emphasis on the initial "nay" - the only person I've ever actually heard pronounce it that "nekkid" is the comedian Jeff Foxworthy, whose entire career is built on making fun of southern stereotypes and making rednecks laugh at jokes about dead deer and inbreeding.
