My husband and I had a home in northern Vermont several years ago. We shoveled snow all winter long (7 months)...... We had a 4 wheel drive truck with a snow plow,,, but we still had to shovel the sidewalks, the roofs, and paths to the chicken coop & paths to the ducks & peacocks winter pins. I developed back problems while shoveling snow from around the foundation of the house,, and now have to be careful when picking up heavy objects, or I'll wind up laying on the couch in pain for several days..
If I had to do it all over again,,, I wouldn't move to an area where there's a lot of snow every year. It can wear out your joints & spine ahead of time.
