Does gay fiction make you bitter?

I just watched this movie last night on Netflix called "The Way He Looks." It's a really sweet Italian flick about this blind kid in high school and a burgeoning romance with the new boy in class. They're both all awkward about it and shit...

Made me cry.

I knew I shouldn't watch it, cause I knew that's what my reaction would be. It just made me feel like "god dammit... that's exactly what I always wished would happen to me." Then again I know it's fantasy, essentially. I'm really no different than a 14 year old girl who's a die hard Twilight fan I guess... Now that's really depressing.

Does anyone else get this way ever? Am I on my period? Anyone know where I can get some cranberry juice?

I cried watching It's My Party...the part where he came back.... and the horses....

I would hope that if I ever pushed away the man that I loved...and I was in trouble or dying...he would come back and allow me to leave in peace...so yeah...I guess I put myself in that situation...

OMG! "It's My Party" is one of those movies that makes me cry EVERY TIME I watch it! Of course, now days I cry more over Eric Roberts career choices...his last few films have been for a Christian Communications Co., but I guess when you really need the money you will do whatever peice of trash that comes along to pay the bills....

I can get emo over it but I like it, too, as long as it's not sappy and contrived. I'm working on a novel which I think is managing to avoid a lot of stereotypes or hackneyed situations.

Never really watched anything overtly labeled as "gay" unless it's porn, so the only part of me that's cried was my penis.

Although I did watch the last five or so episodes of The L Word in an early morning marathon with a couple of lesbian friends. No bitterness, it was thoroughly entertaining at the time.

I'm not sure why the word "bitter" was used. I don't feel sour grapes when people I actually know get something approaching a happily-ever-after, so I certainly don't feel that way about fictional characters.

But do I cry at them? No, not that either. The gargoyle is part-robot.

Sorry I cant really get into this genre of fiction, more into historical fiction.

Gay fiction shouldn't be a genre as it should just be classed as normal fiction.

We watched this Sunday night. I'd never seen it. It messed me up bad but then everyone who sees it should be.
