It looks good...I read about it after you posted the pic but they didn't mention taste in the description except that it is sometimes referred to as a sea asparagus or sea pickle...does it taste like either?

Asparagus (or "sparrow grass" as it's usually called in East Anglia) is a pretty good analogy. You draw the edible part from the stem as you would sparrer grass As for sea pickle ... that may be because most people would eat it smothered in butter and vinegar. I actually prefer it just with butter or sometimes I cook it in a vegetable stock.

For lunch I had a bowl of brown rice with asparagus, carrots, snap peas, shiitake mushrooms, water chestnuts and chicken...and a glass of Iced Tea. I eat brown rice almost every day for lunch and/or dinner...I just add different things with it every time..combinations are endless.

Been at a local music festival. OMG, one of the food stalls was selling samphire - never seen that before. Delicious. I'm finishing the day with a bowl of cherries.
