Interestingly this post had q122 visits but no comments. Is this because we are now becoming accustomed sports personalities coming out and it is no longer newsworthy and /or just that people are now more accepting?

Well, for starters he's not the first gay rugbyman to come out in the professional field. Gareth Thomas did it before. So the article comes a bit as a misnomer.
