I hate LinkedIn
#1
Let me paint you a picture:

I'm playing uncharted for the first time thanks to the re-release yesterday. I've got a few hours before work and that's how I decided to spend my time. My phone bleeps, I swipe to open the notification, but a cut-scene starts so I pay attention to that. After the cut-scene I go back to my phone and when I open it, I'm on the page of my ex on linked In. WTF how did this happen? Apparently it must have sent me a notification that he just got an account. I immediately leave, but there is a permanent view from me on his account.

I don't care that he has it, and would never have looked him up on it, but now he probably thinks I'm stalking or something stupid.

He still creeps into my mind on a regular basis, and now that I will probably sometimes wonder if what he thinks I was doing there. Stupid LinkedIn ruining my perfectly good day.

Ahhhh how annoying! I hate awkward situations like that. I went on my activity log out of interest the other day on Facebook. Scrolling down, everything seemed fine until I noticed I'd friend requested my work colleague's HUSBAND (whom I've never met) somehow (obviously it was showing as pending as he'd not accepted). All I can think of was she'd recently added me and I must have left my phone on in pocket and it did things whilst it moved around. I withdrew the friend request and luckily she's moved away (not due to fear of her family being stalked, just a new job).
Gossip is the Devil’s telephone; best just to hang up.

LinkedIn is probably the most well...not interesting platform. Even when networking. This is how my networking events go as a 2nd year business student

*Goes to Networking Event*

*Gets a bunch of business cards, meet a bunch of people*

*go home, add all of them*

*Gets added, and never to be heard again*

Of course, there's always a couple that I ended up having coffee with while asking questions but even after that, it's just basically...well, awkwardness.

Go to your privacy settings and change it to "view profiles anonymously" under the "what do others see when you've viewed their profile" option- at least that way it won't happen again.
