OMGoodness, such a giggle all this...

Dont worry, Starbucks is doomed to failure. They had 80% decline in biz about three months ago. Many many shops closing in USA. I would never support such a biz as it is just coffee/tea... I make a much better cap anyways. I did get some jobs off them as a secret shopper which was brill.

Not really. Aberdonians are tight. And they know nothing about tea/coffee. It's not like home, where there's plenty of everything. I miss Edinburgh so much sometimes.

Oh and Frank, PLEASE dont' say that, i love starbucks more than i love GAP (well, almost lol). Capitalist whore, much?? lol

Lmao! Comrades Zeon, Cardshark, is that The Internationale I hear playing in the background?

I thought ye old Reds died out with the cold war.

If they serve good coffee and don't cattle-prod the staff for working too slow, then I don't have an issue. If they start running guns to Hamas or arming a new round of neo-Soviet commies, then I might take issue.

I'm on this side of the cap-comm divide on this one - and I'm enjoying the lovely, high quality coffee that comes with it.

Double Skinny Latte, anyone?

Amen to that!!

Just one thing. SKINNY latte?? What kinda diet nut are you busting??

Tis coffee, just enjoy the taste of it.

And FYI Cardy: I DO make my own coffee, but sadly i don't have the time/money/other resources to carry a cafetiere and other necessary items around with me. Never mind how i'd steam the milk... I still like starbucks, their coffee (and this comes from my friend Lizzy who tastes tea and coffee for a LIVING) 'isn't all that bad actually, it's quite nice.'

So there Tongue3Tongue3

Hugs and love

LOL a slightly excessive diet whore .

It amuses me.. If i bought all the equipment required to make a starbucks-quality coffee, I'd be spending excessive finance on personal luxury. If I just buy coffee from Starbucks, I'm supporting the multi-nationalist capitalist regime. If I make my own, it's mediocre and deprives me of the right to satisfaction and happiness.

If we all stop drinking Starbucks coffee, and everyone does, then hundreds of thousands of people lose their jobs. In a market economy, not your ridiculous 10 men employed to polish a trophy, these hundreds of thousands of people remain unemployed.

Keep singing The Internationale and dreaming of the revolution, but the biggest, most powerful communist movement has been and gone, and the world watched it self-destruct. If an ideology can't hold itself together, then don't expect anyone else to support it.

Capitalism may be suffering within itself, but capitalism will continue to support capitalism and as time has and will continue to show, where money is, and money matters, money grows.

Take the communism ideals, the ideological bullshit, the silly little uninformed unrealities and have a look at the world. We're in the most incredibly lucky position of not being a 3rd world country, but international communism would drive us all there.

The basic, most simple, most idiot-proof fact in the world is this: Resources Are Limited. Human Want Is Unlimited. Capitalism is manipulated by money and influence, both of which can be controlled. Communism is manipulated by sheer deviousness.

For me, well, you know where I stand. But take a look at just how great, honest, honourable and fair communism has been in the past and consider just how much you could live with that now.

Starbucks is one of the most politically corupt institutions of our time.. They make huge financial contributions to the Israeli goverment and fund the illegal settlements on palastinian land.

Here in Britain they use cutthroat buisness practices to expand their coffe shops. They take over empty properties and when the council fines them they just pay the fine instead of applying for planning permission like everyone else. I could go on the list is endless. No wonder my last starbucks tasted so bitter!

NB: I should point out that the kinda ferocious nature of my last post is not really personal - I have great issue with communism, and IMO most socialist ideology is just a semantic away from it.

Anyway, despite where any of us may stand on this ideological divide, I hope we're all mature enough to avoid taking/making it personal.

Woolfe,

Try to calm down. That was one hell of a rant. (You're nearly as bad as me.) If you are not careful you will end up posting the truth that dare not speak its name - that gay men are natural Tories.
