You know, in ancient times, men had to complete a rite of manhood before they were considered adults. Personally, I believe that one of the major problems experienced by straight men in today's society is the lack of such rituals. Straight men no longer have to accomplish anything to become "men".

Luckily, we homos DO have a rite of manhood. An often dangerous and frightening one: Coming Out.

It's an overwhelming phase, and I can very well understand how nervous you are.

One thing that I think is important to understand, just because you are gay, i.e. liking guys, doesn't really make you "different". You're still the same person
At least that's my way of seeing it, and some don't agree with me there, but I wanted to express it anyway

Welcome. I know first hand how that can be, and it can be really hard at times not trying to let on how much what people say toward you can hurt. Just be comfortable with yourself, and don't let it get you down. True friends and family who care about you will stand by you no matter what. I can tell you're a kind, and good person.
