Oh I felt it after running 5 miles and I felt it again when I was swimming...and I got a feeling I'm going to be feeling it most of this week...

Couple things that might helps with the soreness... 1. Stretch 2. If you're at the gym or doing cardio or whatever make sure you do a cool off don't just stop, helps work out the lactic acid out of your muscles which might help too..

I think what I'm doing is ok, just have to be careful and change up things a bit... This week for my lunches and so on is curry chicken, might have made it too spicy but we'll see I think it turned out good... I think the only bad thing is there might be a little too much salt...which if I sweat it out isn't too bad...

Juicing is a bunch of hooey. As Mike says, you lose the fiber in fruits and vegetables, at least to good extent, and that is silly. As a diabetic, I am told to avoid juices because they simply dump concentrated sugars into the system. Why do that? You will be much healthier in the long run if you eat a balanced diet while watching the sugar and fat levels of what you eat. What I call the lemming diets [Oh, let's all eat this...Oh, let's all run over here and eat that...] are not designed for sustainability. Eat food.

Getting rid of the sodas is a wise move. They are even worse than juices when it comes to dumping too much sugar into your system. Drink water. It is amazing stuff.

Watch out for weight loss that is overly rapid. You can't keep it up and it is hard on you. Initially you will lose water weight and then will hit a plateau where you are gaining muscle and muscle is heavy. That's OK, since muscle also boosts your resting metabolism and helps you to use the fuel you are consuming. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither are bodies. My doctors tell me that you can really only lose about 1-2 pounds per week on an ongoing basis. Just remember that whatever you do needs to be aimed toward the long term. You don't want to yo-yo with your weight and conditioning.

Yeah 1-2 lbs was what I was estimating to lose, but yes I suspect a lot of it is water weight, but not sure how long that goes on for...

Yes... I don't think juicing is all that good for you, between the fiber and the higher sugar concentration...if anything should be the other way around, throw out the juice and eat the pulp that's left over... that's the stuff that has value imo.

But yeah going to just eat food... I do need to figure out a way to mix it up a little bit.. Sort of a tight budget, needs to essentially be something I can cook and freeze and then take to work...

Axle, try googling "meals to freeze" or something like that. The internet has more cooking stuff on it than any dozen people could ever handle. You should be able to keep costs under control if you stick to buying only ingredients and not ready made stuff, being aware of grocery sales and specials, and keeping it all tasty with a carefully built up collection of herbs and spices. You claim not to be much of a cook but it looks like you do pretty well. Just keep it simple and gorge on those veggies!

I will see what I can find... I did curry chicken & vegetables this week... Turned out ok.... Might need to adjust it next time I do it, but used coconut milk and the whole bit...might be better with curry paste instead of powder but not bad at any rate.

The problem is that it is the same stuff all week long...well not literally, but a lot of it...and variety is a good thing. Although taking multi-vitamins and so on helps with that...

Then try to make a big enough batch each week that you can freeze a couple of extra meals. After a few weeks of this you will be able to choose something different every day from your stockpile. Remember to date and rotate--the meals, that is! You should also be able to do a bit of salad that will keep in the fridge in a plastic tub. Just toss a handful for the day into a small tub and you are set. I like to add nuts to salad and a mere teaspoon of dressing will coat it well if it is being bounced around on the way to work.

Can you tell I like to eat, man?

[MENTION=20933]LJay[/MENTION] the only problem I have with salads at work is with the dressing, it goes soggy very quick. Now what I might do is take advantage (more so) of the fridge at work and just take dressing... I'm pretty much sticking to plain old balsamic... vinegar not the dressing they dump a pile of sugar on.

I'm also considering fasting... Only thing is I don't like being hungry lol I have read/heard about some pretty good benefits but I like to conduct my own research on the stuff. But definitely got issues with juicing and the consensus seems to be about the same for the most part. In fact in the past I've sort of talked down on it, had a friend who was doing it and told them you know that's pulling all the fiber -- the good stuff, out of the fruit and all is left is just the sugar... Of course he then lights up a cigarette lol
