When viewing this Americans will likely feel great sadness over those lost and extreme pride in their accomplishments since September 11, 2001

I really like 1wtc, I thinks it's a beautiful building. I preferred the old plans for 2wtc to the ones I guess they are going with now. And I'm excited to see what the inside of the Calatrava transit hub will look like. It's pretty crazy from the outside.
I'm not a fan of the museum though. It has some interesting objects and the space itself is incredible. But it was too much for me. I wouldn't recommend it either, I don't think people who remember 9/11 need to go there. Maybe in the future it will be of value. But there's little need, in my opinion, to be re exposed to that trauma.

I think the last time I visited NYC was in 2011 (when the occupy protests was happening), and 1wtc was still under construction then, I really couldn't see a whole lot due to the barricades around everything. I do remember going into the old church where the firefighters went to pray, and I was amazed at the cemetery next to it, graves right next to the subway entrance.
