I feel rather sad after reading your story, thinking that what you and your partner had to go through after a solid 11 years' relationship. I understand that you find your new friendship very refreshing however it is only the beginning of a new relationship. In 10 years' time when you look back I hope you feel that you made the right decision. All the best for the future.

This sounds exactly like someone I was with for a short time - opened the relationship up and had his trick up on speed dial. The next day we all went on a camping trip, and since I was made to feel like the "third wheel" in that triad, a couple days later I saw the relationship going nowhere after that, so I ended things. I was so in love with him and he apparently was not with me, especially when he talked so much about monogamy and "just us". Conviction means a lot to me, and since then, my skills on the bullshit meter have only sharpened.
