I'm as shocked as you guys that anyone is taking him seriously. I don't think the Republican Party is into him either with all the talk of a contested convention.
But I'm hardly an expert on American politics.

trywait, looking at the big picture, I don't think Bernie has it. He has provided the goad toward a lot of good things, though. I'm willing to give Hillary a chance because I think she has the balls for the job and may just throw a curve or two at the Republicans, who need a good kick in the ass.
I am actually willing to give either party a chance but the Republicans have been nothing but spoiled children for the last 8 years. I am old fashioned enough to think that elected representatives should DO and not merely OBSTRUCT.
I bid NO Trump!

I support Sanders because he is not a puppet of the big interests in America. There is an often cited article from Princeton published in 2014 stating that the U.S. is in fact an oligarchy. In addition, he genuinely cares about civil rights and was much more proactive about it in the early stages, the same cannot be said of Hilary. He supports civil liberties in that he is against the Patriot Act. He takes a more measured approach to foreign policy, there is a tendency to be heavy handed. I cannot say I support all of his economic initiatives, but the idea of a national healthcare system is growing on me because I do view healthcare as a right, and I think cutting out insurance companies will help to cut the exorbitant costs for medicine that exist in this country.

Well the issue as it is we are spending 16% of the GDP on healthcare and the life expectancy and outcomes are rather poor, generally worse than most other industrialized nations. Countries with a national healthcare system somehow manage to pay a smaller percentage of their GDP towards healthcare and have better outcomes. That's not to say that it is the answer, but why is it such a bad thing to try when it seems to be working for everybody else? I think there are other things that must be done to help the general health of this country, for example all the crap food is cheap in this country, but the healthier options are usually more expensive. However, how healthcare is delivered in this country seriously needs to be looked at.
