The aspect that interests us, elections, is still not comparable. France elects its president by popular vote, with a run off when there is no majority.

To clarify,

the French elect the president by universal suffrage. In Italy the president gets elected by the parliament, and the same goes for most of the EU, as far as I know. In the EU, presidents are not that powerful. It's the Prime Minister (and other ministers) and the parties. It's why Angela Merkel is more important that Joachim Gauck.

Even so, the Prime Minister depends on the political parties, and the PM can be ousted under vote of no confidence (has been done in the EU).

That's the quick sum-up.

EU and US are incomparable mostly, in my opinion.

If I remember correctly, when Obama won, people plastered clown-faced Obama stickers over all the stop signs in my area. I'll take crybabies in the streets over traffic accidents, thank you.
I think it would have been hilarious to watch Alex Jones had Hillary won. Look at his breakdown at the THOUGHT of a Clinton victory:

The thing is, year's ago before the Supreme Court's decision Trump said he was fine with gay marriage. And NativeSon how am I being dragged into this? I really thought, and still think, that neither of them would make a good president.

Holy crap... is he serious or is this a bad comedy or? O_o
holy frack I think he would be like on of the ones I heard about on campus that need to be "talked out of suicide". wow O_o

As far as takeing the crybabies over the postered stop signs, I must admit a stop sign is pretty easy to identiy when you come to a
an intersection you either stop or yield and even completely covered you should be able to identify a triangle and a hexagon.

I think I would take stickers on signs over someone bashing my rear window out or robbing my store because they are "protesting" an election.

It is even reflecting what we have seen here on GS, if your not FOR Hillary, well your just a terrible person,
probably sexist, probably racist probably self hating probably a deplorable and probably should not have the right to vote.
even though the right to vote is one of the most important rights you have as a free citizen if you dont vote the way someone else
thinks you should, well, to them, you shouldn't have the right to vote.

I seen several members here get drug through the mud because their beliefs weren't lock step, kinda sad really.
Rather than engage with them they were shut down and tossed/ignored, belittled and made fun of.
As a gay person it is expected people have tolerance of our choices but when someone else doesn't
think as we do we can see how quickly tolerance is tossed.

Just watched the video again, I would buy this guy a drink. He pretty much hits how Ive felt over the last several days on the head.

SilverBullet Alex Jones is a hack... So one has to go through great lengths to give that guy any credibility. Does Trump want to hurt you and your family? Probably not but Trump definitely lives in his own bubble.

As for the video with Jonathan Pie, yeap that's exactly what I have seen on here and on Facebook. However, it is an uphill battle to defend voting for Trump. Not because it makes you racist but rather a disregard for race but it is all a matter of interpretation but I do think it is hard to ignore. There was some similar reactions when Obama was re-elected, similar stances....Romney just was, well not drawing the heat like Trump was and another reason why this election shit basically hit the fan. However, I see it as being similar to 2012, just a lot worse.
