Wow! A gay character in a Disney film. This is a coming of age story. Coming of age of Disney.

So unlike them that I doubt that it will ever come about. There will be protests from parents fearing that their little kiddies will be corrupted.

you know what i recently read about -- Plato, the ancient Greek philosopher, wanted to prohibit parents from telling their kids the stories of the Greek myths (these stories passed on through retelling in usual social settings) because he thought the stories were too violent and would consequently corrupt the kids. Plato wanted to institute a ban in his 'ideal' city that would prohibit all stories except certain 'safe' types (in brief, the non-violent, flowers-and-butterflies stories) in the presence of kids so they wouldn't get bad influence.
ridiculous, right? for someone who was supposed to be intelligent no less. 2500 years and we're in the same spot. i'm certain this trend will continue to be rehearsed for the next few millennia just as well. like a broken record.
a. censorship is not possible and intellectual despotism is not gonna solve anything.
b. people seem to forget that they themselves grew up being exposed to violence, and other 'negative' influences, whether directly or indirectly. gay characters and films have yet to dispose anyone to homosexuality. better still -- all the plethora of heterosexual advertising in one form or another has failed to turn homosexuals straight.
people should get their heads out of their asses already and stop being such morons. this is exactly why i have a low tolerance for common idiocy.

Interesting to think that of Plato, Meridannight. Of course the philosopher may have missed the fact that kids are extremely adept at getting around the censors and filling their little minds with salacious thoughts all on their own.

I doubt it would be between those two. maybe Oscar Isaac's character but Boyega's character Finn clearer started to develop feelings for the the other star character Rey. no matter who it is I can't wait to see the comments, it was already some ass backward group complaining about a black co-star, can't wait to see what happens if there's an openly gay character and a bi-racial couple.
