More and more i am staring to feel all alone and alone. People are just not interested in chatting enough to form any form of friendship or further. I try hard and i just can't take much of it any more.

Fair enough and what do you do to make the conversation more interesting and where do you go for conversations; social media where 90% of the people in there aren't really interested in chatting but rather more interested in showing, or dating sites where most start with "I'm looking for friendship" but what they truly means is "I wanna have sex" and "don't bother calling me the next day unless you want to keep on fucking". I don't know where you live, but I'd believe that online isn't the only place to find friends. What about becoming some sort of a volunteer in your community? Twice a week I teach martial art to the less financially advantaged children of my community and thus I truly don't spend much time finding friends on the net I have tons of friends offline and I do not have a Facebook account, yes I know 16 years old, no Facebook, it's rare

What efforts have you made to make friendships and communicate with people?

To be honest, there comes a time when you realize that you don't actually need people for a lot of things.
The second you feel content with being on your own it will, curiously enough, be easier for you to take in and keep other people in your life.

I have tried the different websites and forums and applications on my mobile phone and no one really showed interest. No one seems to want to develop friendships or relationships these days.

When was the last time you tried to chat privately with someone from a forum like this one? Per example would you come to me if I wasn't in a relationship? Just for the sake of discussing on general topics or you, yourself have a specific agenda behind your desire to find "friendship"? Would you look at my picture first before talking to me or you would just talk to me because you find what I wrote and said interesting? I guess you gotta be clear with your real intentions as well.

Facebook and the like cheapen friendship. (and i hate them for it. it's one of the reasons, among others, i refuse to associate myself with it). friendship is something beautiful and amazing. it is a sublime connection between two people, a commitment, a faith. it is not to be trivialized. i think you have the right idea about these things. that's a very healthy attitude you have there. and your martial arts class sounds cool. that's the way people are supposed to live. in the real world. the physical world out there. internet is just something for downtime, when you don't have anything better to do, to check on. to the creator of this thread: read again what Yeshua said. i also agree that you're looking for friendship in the wrong place. it's not to be found on the internet. go out and start approaching real people you like. try to build some connections like that, and take it further from there. life without friends is lonely. but don't settle for the cheap alternative. go for the real thing. trust me, it's worth all the risk and effort that goes into it.

I have very few if any social friends in real life, i have my work mate who is maybe the closest friend i have and he is 48. Me and him have had a few nights out and i respect him alot, i have other people from work but they are not the type to fulfil me and my life goals nor are they in any way desirable, their work attitude shows that. I myself dream of just a few friends my age who i can socialise with to get me to meeting people for other things more that friendships.

My BF is in the UK, you two could at least socialize a bit. |
