It's obvious for anyone who has eyes to see.Today any idiot can came up with so-called art that doesn't say anything significant but it's given some "deep meanings" and ppl think it's cool cause they can't figure it out but pretend they do when in fact there's nothing to figure out about it.

I guess there may be some work that fits that description, but I also think that the creative mind is constantly stirred to invent new ways of seeing and exploring ideas. I like to meet an artist part of the way when possible and I can be genuinely excited by being made to look at something in a way that hadn't struck me before. Sometimes I simply have an emotional reaction to a work of art. Being stirred to anger is as valid a response as liking the look of something.

This point of view reminds me of the complaints and jokes I heard as a child about Picasso's inability to draw "proper" pictures. Anyone who knows his work (particularly the early works) will know how untrue this is.

I might have to think about that a bit more ... :redface: But doesn't the functional nature of 1960s town planning take it out of the realm of art? A bit like those pictures people could buy in Woolworths. They were there to serve a function and fill a space, but hardly amounted to "art". :confused:
