I was wondering how they could be so well preserved.

Even so, you'd think water pressure, over time, would do more damage. Pretty much every shipwreck from a mere 100-150 years ago here is dissolving into nothing. Then again, it is the open ocean, as opposed to an enclosed body of water.

I do wonder if has something to do with manufacturing quality, the kind of wood, the sealer, etc.
