What was the best phone you have ever owned?

Thats tough.
Yeah, its a sad reality, spending a shitload on some of the most beautifully designed devices out there and it ends up just being hidden by a case...but I can see why they opted for glass though, the S5 was all plastic and people panned it for not being 'premium'.
But, If glass isn't your thing, LG/HTC and other OEMs offer metal/metal-plastic designs that look good and are durable.

Yeah I ended up forking out a bunch of money to pay for that one and just have a regular S7....

Thankfully not the Note 7.

Anyway will be quite some time before I upgrade phones again. Always a hassle, always something that doesn't get transferred lol

My current one I guess.
Never had one that's completely satisfied me though.

First smartphone was a Samsung Galaxy Ace. Ran well for the time. Was okay in most ways, but it's screen was really pixilated...also a bit greenish if I remember right? Aged pretty quickly.

Second was the Sony Xperia P. Cool looking, but wow is it's battery awful.

A small, even for the time, 1400MaH battery combine with a super bright RGBW 560p display which drained it within three hours of use, max. Also had a terrible graphics processor, so it dropped frames like crazy, especially with Sony's seemingly terribly optimised default home screen.

My current phone is the Oppo R7. Mainly because it was good value.
It's okay, but it never got the software support I hoped it would. It's also perhaps just a smidgen too big for my liking.

Perhaps my biggest problem with it is its AMOLED display. It tends to over-saturate most colours(green especially), which can be irritating on its own, but the colours can also be a little...off? Most noticeably, reds always look slightly orange. I can't believe adjusting display settings is such a rare feature on phones, especially as they have become media consumption devices.
I've learnt my lesson, and will be looking to make sure my next phone has a relatively colour accurate display.

If I were to get a new phone, it would be either an HTC One M9 or S9. The Pixel phone looks interesting, but it's currently way too expensive.

The best I've had was a Nokia C3, I loved the phone with keyboards, in fact I hate the smartphone touch-screen because it's annoying to me when I try to write a properly message.

I lost that phone on a travel I did to a mountain village

The last one I owned was a Samsung A3, but I let it felt on the beach last year and only lasted me 2 months.

Currently I don't own a Smartphone just a basic Nokia 105 again, but I'm waiting for the iPhone 7 Jet Black to arrives in Panama.

I've never been an Smartphone guy in fact, I'm more like a PC/laptop addict, but now I'm currently in the "need" to have one, but If it was by myself I would never buy it.

I have a lot of problems with products that dictate what you must use and products that have the attitude 'They are going to buy it anyway, so why bother supporting it."

I used to love nokia's back in the day, firstly the 5110 then the 3110 and 8150, but they got so big that they thought 'They are going to buy it anyway'

Then along came the smart phone. I had the iPhone 3gs, 4 then 5. Lovely looking phones, functional, easy to use, BUT you can only do what apple want's you to do unless you jailbreak it. The after sales service is fantastic and other companies can learn a lot, but the phone itself is so limited that customising is impossible.

Then I went to a Samsung Galaxy S5. I love the fact that it is android/linux based, those who know me know I am a huge fan of Linux. Great phone, customise the way you want, linked in to google, water resistant, a great camera for its time AND expandable memory via SD card, which was a deal sealer for me as I have over 80GB of music and need 128gb of storage. BUT i got burnt when I bought the Samsung Gear S2 that shipped with faulty straps. The after sales services was disgusting, it was their way or no way at all. There was no engagement with the customer, they merely dictated to the customer....and that is a deal breaker.

I have just ordered the Huawei P9 and watch bundle which I will get in the next couple of days.

I fully researched this product and read feed back on not only the company and the products. I am confident I am with a winner. A dual lens camera made by Leica, dual sim, expandable memory and apparently great after sales support.
