Every "sun" of a certain critical mass (far more massive than ours anyway) WILL be a black hole in the sad bitter end.

Nice pictureeeeeeeeeeee.

"Hang my head, drown my fear. Till you all just disappear..."

Gotta look more into that object.....Is that actual matter? A star? Something?

It's just an illustration.

I can see you didn't click on the link. Shame! Smile

Fascinating stuff, often misunderstood or misinterpreted due to the fact that they are called black HOLES when actually they are not holes.

Still so much to learn about everything that surrounds us

I thought this was just Hawking Radiation at first, but that is a full solid object and that is quite confusing.

"Mystery" my eye. I'm onto the deception, NASA. This was obviously a demonstration of superweapon Starkiller Base's awesome destructive power. Bam.

Well, they did say:

"observed what is believed to be a black hole’s corona launching away from the supermassive black hole. That event was then followed by a large pulse of X-Ray energy."

To me this sounds like the big, sleepy giant let one rip whilst taking a selfie of it.
