After a comment was left it got me think, How many of the members would for or against having an 18+ member locked Adult subforum? What would be the Pros and Cons to having this? Do you think it would make gs more active? I'd loved to hear comments from both sides.

I don't think I understand why you voted being for an adult section. Would you mind sharing the crux of the comment you received? I have no doubt that an adult section would increase traffic, but so would something like abolishing the 50 post probation period--which in turn would run the risk of opening a troll floodgate. I'd label that a "con."

I don't usually partake in the "erotic" threads just because I think they're mostly cheesy; the photos may have technical, artistic, and even sensual merit, but more often than not the actual subjects are not what I consider to be attractive.

Against. What I like about this site is that it's 100% porn free. It's like going to a gay bathhouse and chatting with a man while relaxing in the hot tub, instead of being greeted by a bunch of creeps who touch your private parts without saying "hi". Adding an adult-only section would make it closer to the second case. And to be honest I don't even like threads like "the bulge", "stud of the day" etc.

I have sometimes wished for a completely wide open site that would be as mannerly and as interesting as Gayspeak. I don't think that I am going to find it, though. I'm a long way from prudish about picturing men's bodies or talking about them, but the sites that have lots of nudity seem to have a different emphasis than this site.

As for the technicalities, I think that a site exhibiting full nudity may have more regulatory scrutiny and present certain legal challenges to its owner and operator.

Gayspeak seems to present something unique. Where else can parents ask questions and 14-year-olds find a rational ear to listen? You could bring your Mom here, right? I just don't find the caliber of discussion we have here on other sites.

So, if I were voting, I would go for have another site rather than adding to this one. Safer, simpler and less likely to disrupt a very good thing.

Is there a special forum here for underage kids and parents looking for advice because I'm not seeing much in the way of this sort of thread if there is? Being a social worker who deals with family issues, I know something of what kids and their parents are doing in regards to sexuality issues and not just gay issues. Most parents are absolutely clueless about what their kids are doing online, especially since kids don't have to rely on home PCs or laptops to be active in the cyber world. Smart phones have opened a brave new world. Often kids are smarter than their parents when it comes to technology. Is GaySpeak a safe place for those under 18? Doubtful, since there are a lot of mature topics being discussed i.e. guys having problems with sex in and out of relationships. There is no denying there are things discussed here that are inappropriate for the underaged. I'm sure many Mothers would also cringe at what get talked about here.

Maybe I'll have my Mom take a look here. She has raised 5 sons and is no prude and not shy about having an opinion. I have the coolest Mom in the world.

I wonder if Virgo suggested the forum so that member who are familiar with each other could interact on that kind of level. He can answer that for himself.
