Lets talk about towels
#11
Instead of towel, I use paper towel after washing my face. I do use bath towel after shower...wash it on a weekly basis.

Open your bathroom window often or possibly let your wet towels dry in the balcony if you have one.
Wet towels will stink badly if left in closed spaces, even more so if said spaces are very small, like a closet or a gym bag.

I do laundry - clothing, bedding, towels, everything - once a week. It's only been since a few months ago that I actually have laundry in my building. Maybe if I had a washer/dryer in my apartment I'd be doing it every day. But from using laundromats my whole life, my once a week routine is pretty well established.

I don't think a daily wash is a good idea, it wastes electricity and water. I've stayed in a lot of hotels in my life including those that change sheets and towels every day. Some hotel are more ecologically minded and leave a card in your room that you place on your bed if you don't want the sheets and towels changed. Think of the quantity of detergent that eventually finds its way in to the water table.

Like you Emiliano, I do one wash a week and just on the odd rare occasion, two. Where I live in Spain we have cyclical droughts so am always conscious of the water I use as well as the power.

Towels I put in the pile to wash after 3 or 4 uses. Like Inbetweendreams has said, a sniff test normally tells me if they need to go into the laundry. After 1 day, they certainly don't need washing IMO.

Not daily, but in my experience towels need to be washed after a week's usage. Your water may be clean, but after multiple usage bacteria start to grow and multiply in it. So, that's where the smell comes from. This happens especially often for towels you use to dry hands. Not having proper ventilation doesn't help either.

Besides, if the place where you hang the towel is highly humid, it speeds up the growth of bacteria and the towels rot really fast.

From my own experience, If you only use them to dry your body after a complete bathing (with soap and everything, not just water) and it's not humid, it should be able to last a week. Otherwise you might want to wash it more often.
