Georg Philipp Telemann (1681 - 1767) was a German Baroque composer and multi-instrumentalist. Almost completely self-taught in music, he became a composer against his family's wishes.

I went to see a so-so production of Verdi's Rigoletto last month. I got tickets for productions of La Boheme and Salome in the Spring that I'm pretty excited for too.

I hve not really been into classical music, but I explored so much of other types it was inevetable classical would reach me at some point. My point of introduction was when I found the brilliant Max Richter, much used on BBC4 documetries he is a classical/electronic crossover artist.
More recently I am enjoying The Tone Poems by Jean Sibelius. But I am only really intersted in dark/melancholic classical music. I could not bare anything jolly or livlely. Too camp for me.
