Nature vs Nurture - Born gay or turned gay?
#51
I don't mean to be blunt but as far as I know my ancestors have been cooking their meat for many generations. My father was both able to sire me and is in fine fettle (good health) in his late 70s.

Maybe, it is more complex in human beings. Rolleyes
One thing for sure is we are not as healthy as our ancestors used to be. The proof is more and more ailments are cursing us, heart diseases, cancer, etc. These conditions were less seen in the past.

Now just a thought, do you guys notice that those animals that have less chance to survive tend to lay more eggs or bear more children to preserve its species' existence?

Bad nutrition -> Degeneration -> Overpopulation -> Homosexuality. This is just nature's act.

That is my hypothesis. Rolleyes

In the past the young (as we regard them now) used to quickly die of infectious diseases (TB, malaria, fevers, etc. All still big killers in the third world). People are now so healthy in their youth that the great majority live long enough to suffer the chronic diseases of old age. Apparently life expectancy in the U.K. is increasing at 7 hours per day which for me is an amazing statistic.

There are lies, damned lies and statistics. The elite are experts in using statistics.
In the past people had malnutrition especially during the war and bad sanitation. Bacteria and virus therefore have more opportunity to infect. People in the third war due to poverty don't have proper nutrition. Therefore they are more susceptible to those diseases.
Today, people in developed countries are more prone to organic diseases which are degeneration due to bad nutrition.

The statistic I quoted I heard today (via the radio) from Prof. Colin Blakemore, former president of the Medical Research Council.

What are "organic diseases"?

What's "Ral research"? I wasn't clear after a Google search.

Here's a beginner's guide to biology and sexual orientation. Make a strong cup of coffee first Wink

So, using your definition of degeneration you are suggesting that "bad nutrition" can make you gay? I'd be fascinated to see the evidence that informed your hypothesis. I hope it doesn't mean I'd have to give up chocolate ... or cherries ... or carrots.

All the most recent scientific data (legitimate scientific data that is) backs up the theory that sexuality is genetic but one must remember that your environment affects what genes are turned on or off.

Not to mention that sexuality is probably dependent on many different genes and certain interactions of certain genes in certain ways. It is all very complicated and any exact answers are decades away.

Oh and the argument that being gay is unnatural is totally moronic. Not only because we see many animal species having homosexuality but also the mere fact that homosexuality exists makes it natural.

All things of this world are a part of nature and are therefor natural. And as humans we are a part of nature and therefor, by extension anything we do or create is a part of nature and natural.
BAM!
