lol, most definitely not. I'm sorry to say, spells like that do not exist, and if they ever did, their secrets were lost with their creators. No, my spells are a great deal more subtle, and far more practical. Think less of it defying the laws of the universe, and more as adjusting the odds that fate deals you a better hand. If I work a spell to have good luck in love for the next 24 hours, I'll get nothing out of it if I stay home and have no human contact, no hot hunk will appear in front of me, drooling over the prospect of my writhing form. However, if I perform that same spell and go out clubbing, the odds are far better that I'll just happen to hit on the guy who I would have clicked with anyway. Generally, if you perform the sell well enough, the odds tip so much in your favor that one way or another, you will get what you asked for. I honestly think witchcraft is where we get the phase 'be careful what you wish for, you just might get it' from. I can't count the number of times I did a spell and got more than I bargained for.

If you want to know how to do magick, start with soem basic books on Wicca, then practice for years. You can find them in the'new age' or 'metaphysical' or 'occult' section of your local bookstore, or any of the above at large online booksellers like Barnes and Noble or Amazon. That's where I started to learn my craft, and everything beyond the books was experience, both on my own and with other witches.

Okay, I'm going to make this as clear as possible. Set aside everything you have ever read about witchcraft, and think of it as a skill that can be cultivated, like proficiency in art, or math, or sex. Yes, some are more talented at it than others, but raw talent can only do so much, and in the case of witchcraft, that is often very little. Every person in existence has the ability to use magick. The only things needed are the methods and dedication needed to practice it until success through one's spells, charms, etc are achieved at a constant.
It will not get you everything you want with no work involved, because witchcraft is a great deal of hard work. It's an investment of energy, often a very large and tiring investment. I spend probably a total of 16 hours a week practicing my craft on average, and that's when I'm not really focused on anything in particular.
Magick cannot be used to obtain what basic physical laws prevent. Forget about flying, teleportation, conjuring things out of thin air, having other beings or people or stuff appear in front of you at your command, or having someone as your loveslave with a word or a gesture. All of that is the fantasy that the average human being has when they think 'if only life were easy', 'if only I had a magic wand that solves all my problems,' 'if only I could snap my fingers and make all this go away'. Nothing is ever that easy, nor will it ever be so. If you really want to know what witchcraft is about, stop watching TV and go read a book about actual witchcraft. Phyllis Curott is a good author to start with. Her book "Book of Shadows" is about her beginnings in the craft. Perhaps you could start there?

In an attempt to revive this dead thread (or at least give it a proper epitaph) Paganism is actually an umbrella term for a huge number of groups, and yes a great many of those groups have central spiritual tenets, worship particular Deities and/or revere particular concepts, (Ar nDraiocht Fein and other orders of Modern Druids, Asatru and other Norse Pagans, Greek re-constructionist pagans, Egyptian Pagans, Santeria practitioners, Traditional Wiccans, etc). Most of these groups have their own rituals and acts of worship, their own clergy, their own holy places, their own myths and lore, and even their own cultures and customs to some extent.
There are also those who choose a more solitary path, often blending the teachings of different traditions, cultures, and divinities into a set of teachings that suits their spiritual needs. This is often called an eclectic pagan, and is equally valid and far more common than those who join a particular spiritual tradition.
Hope that clears things up a bit. It seemed like there was a lot of info going around and not a lot of sorting to it. Just to make it clearly stated (not sure if I was clear enough before, I am a traditional Wiccan.

Haven't yet. Weather Permitting, the coven and I are getting together to make a Brid's bed, hold an Imbolc ritual, and eat a nice feast. If the weather gets too brutal and that falls through, I'll stay home, read some stories pertaining to Imbolc, maybe have a small impromptu ritual, not sure what else (probably a Brid's bed if i can't think of anything:tongue: and then have a meal and some meditation time.
But yeah, either way, I'm gonna be a week late....oh well, a witch's work is never done...

I want to get into Wicca but I honestly sort of want someone to teach me. Ive read books but I'd rather have someone who has dappled in the practice of it. I honestly am starting to believe everything Wicca belief is... Ive started to say dear goddess almost lol. I do know the basics of Wicca though so yeah :/

Have you checked out the WitchVox.com and Meetup.com local listings? Maybe gone to a meetup or two or contacted a local group? That's a good place to start. Just remember to stick around only of you feel you can learn a lot there.
