R u a furry?
#1
i'll admit i am, and correct most misconceptions on it
there are two misconceptions going through allot of minds right now

A: i'm talking about guys who are naturally hairy, not what im talking about

b: most people hear furry and think the stereo type of people who dress up as animals so they cat get it on thanks to some wierd @ss beast fetish...uh...no...

Furries are Anthromorph fans, an anthro is a half human half animal (Varying degrees) science fiction or fantasy character. anyone that is a fan of a story/videogame/movie with these in it, or these direclty, are an anthro fan, shortened to furry.

Anthromorph fandom came about in the 80's thanks to an old anthro comic that was shown at a sci fi convention, the now discontinued comic (though ti did try to come back, twice) received a huge fan base, and thus the "furries" where born.

Yes, some furries do dress up in costume and go to anthro/fur conventions, just like some people dress up as klingons or bobba fett and got to sci fi cons, or as...old women... in very little other than chainmail... and go to ren fest....

...anyway do some dress up as animals to "Get it on" or as it is termed in fur talk, Yiff?

sure, about the same percentage that dress up as klingoons and Data to do the same (mmmm data...i mean!.... walks away slowly hoping no one noticed)

so if your a furry why not mention it below, and if im the lone fuzzbutt here, oh well!

First of all, furries used to creep me out and I found them disturbing. I read more about them and I thought they were OK. Time has gone by and furries fascinate me now. I'm not really a furry. I appreciate the artwork. That's pretty much it.

"Brooklyn fury!!!"
"Sorry, I didn't quite catch that, did you just say Brooklyn furry?"
"Go yiff yourself Kaiba!!"
"Whatever that means..."
"Google image it you jerk!"

Why did you have to bring this subject up! I had eliminated this disturbing image of Member of Parliament, George Galloway on Big Brother from my memory until you mentioned it

It's a fascinating subculture, and the darker underbelly of it can be interesting to watch from a distance in a grotesque, train-wreck-you-can't-look-away-from-even-if-it-scars-you-for-life-god-i-wish-i-could-unsee-this sort of way. There's no single official franchise around which the "fandom" is based. Hell, there's no universally agreed-upon explanation for what "furry" itself means. Is it appreciation of furry porn- I mean, artwork? Is it (gulp) a lifestyle? And just how far can you really go? Every kink in the world has some furry proponent somewhere. There are some straaaaaaange people with very off-kilter ways of looking at the world in there, yet so many people who call themselves furry are sane, functional, and have at least some grip on reality. But the ones that don't, especially now that the Internet has brought together these previously isolated creatures...scary shit, but fascinating.

I find that stuff a bit weird.
But, hey -- as long as you're not hurting anyone.... go for it! Smile

During my high school days the furry community really inspired me with my art work. I got so much better! I'm a little bit of a furry!
