Coming out letter - Advice

fenris Wrote:I understand your reasons very well Confusedmile: but... the best way is to talk face to face ... Ok ..you decide for the letter ... its a good way, too ... but be fair and let your mom the possibility to react.... maybe give her the letter before you go to bed ... so you both have a night to think.... but you are there if she want to talk..

That's a good idea. I'll give it to her tonight then.

Wow. I could litterally use that exact same letter for my parents (except the dating part). You pretty much summed up everything about me in that letter as well. I wish you the best of luck, and deeply admire the courage to give that to her. very impressive.

dont forget to tell us how it goes (Im very anxious to hear).

We had some time alone tonight so I gave her the letter and I told her to read it then I went to living room. I sat on the couch, shaking, waiting for her to come in. After a few minutes, she came in and hugged me and we both started to cry. She told me she doesn't care if I'm bi, gay, or straight. The only thing that matters is that I'm happy and she'll love me no matter what. She said of course she knew I wasn't straight and she was just waiting for me to tell her.

She asked me if there were any guys that I like and I said yes. There's a guy that I've been seeing for a few weeks and he makes me happy. I've never felt like this before. She smiled and said she would like to meet him if I'm ready for it.

I'm so relieved. I couldn't be happier right now Smile

Wow, thats incredible. This makes me incredibly happy for you. actually got a little warm n fuzzy in side lol.

Well Congradulations to you man, you seem to have an incredibly loving mom, and now your relationship is only to get stronger.

Also: I think your story is going to make it a lot easier on me to tell my parents when the time comes.
too bad you live far away haha.

Hello there,
Coming out is never easy... When i first came out i was absolutely petrified as though my world was going to end... Mothers i think understand the whole sexuality thing more than dads do because with a mother or one like mine you can comment on other guys and what you think whether it be a yay or a nay... Least with this your putting her mind at rest.. Re assure her that this isnt a phase because every mother thinks sometimes that its just a pjhase but be persistant with it and let her know your still you nothing has changed your just realeasing yourself from a prison.. l explained to my mother that I did some reasearch on sexuality and two easy ways to explain are that A, Its natures way of controlling the population on the world and B, When a child is in the womb the reason people are gay or bi sexual is because nature has put too much chromosone into the baby during devlopment... Explain that all you want is nothing to change and her to love you all the same...

Let us know how it went and remember only one of two things will happen...

She will be like marmite

Either love it or hate it hopefully love it

kindest regards

Sounds really good .... congratulations and from now it would be easier to talk about. If one or more important people are on your side it can´t hurt you if someone don´t agree with your honesty
