Dave Mustain - a life in metal ..... obviously not a classic read but to me it was brilliant and gets great reviews on amazon - its an honest biography and he never glorifys his drug intake or his failings but tells u head on how he handled them and his eventual calling to christianity - he was an original member of Metalica then formed Megadeth - i loaned this to a few freinds who do not even like his music but his story is very readable as a guy in turmoil who conquered his demons and came good in the end.

I know you asked for single books, but as an Avid Fantasy reader, I can't pick a single book out of certain amazing series.

Well, if anyone has read some Dragonlance, the Dragonlance Legends Trilogy is very insightful and really well writen. It covers time travel, paradoxes (dunno if thats the write pluralisation) and the unique relationshp between Raistlin and Caramon Majere (for anyone unfamiliar with the series, Raistlin seems to hate his brother, even though he really doesn't).

Or The Runelords Saga by David Farland - Unique universe where a persons attributes can be transferred between people. Need more strength? Take an endowment of Brawn from a vasal. Want to Shout a castle wall into ruins? Take hundreds of endowments of Voice. (Series is currently on hold, the Author is self-funding a movie adaptation)
