Stand By Me
#11
I think that child hood friends the very close ones do drift away. But sometimes it is for the best. I know that I have had best best friends when I was very little and we have drifted apart. But I have made many many new friends and I am happy with what I have though it is sad that friends leave.

I think you'll find that as you grow older, friends don't leave, not if they were your real friends... I've just recently hooked up again with a person who was my friend some 25 years ago, on Facebook, and it was as if we've never stopped being friends. Wait till you get a little older and you'll probably find that it can be the case. Of course, it depends what sort of a friend you had and you were in the first place. Give-the-shirt-off-your-back kind of friend or just a pleasant acquaintance?
When those friends do leave, it's because they've died. Now that's a whole different kettle of fish...Rolleyes
