I can't deal with a big group of friends as you can only talk to two other people at once.

I'd say mostly it's just for connection purposes. (with some people, of course, as others do just do it to look "cool" and whatnot)

Personally, I have 415 "friends" (acquaintanceships) , and I know all of them, but of course am not "close" to all of them.
If a random gay guy adds me, I usually message them before accepting saying, "Do I know you? If so, from where?"
And that usually leads them to not talking to me, which is fine, or to them responding with interesting/not interesting conversation.

But mostly, it can help in silly things like, "I'm trying to sell my phone, who wants it?" And then you get like 30 offers or messages. So in that sense, it can help.
But if it's just for the number... yeah, that's dumb.

Then there's people with an insane number, like 1000+. aka, my brother. But he travels a lot around the world, so I definitely understand wanting to keep in touch and such.

So some people have their reasons, and others are just dumb about it. hah!

They're horny, awkward guys. Ignore them, or if you want, ask them what they want. x)

At one time I was friends with each of the 128...but not at the same time LOL.

Most of the 128 people I "know" on fb know me for my computer nerd skills.
