Which Browser do you Use: Firefox or Chrome?
#11
Opera mainly for convenience and Firefox when I want to do something more securely, although very occasionally IE and, when I allow my Apple to reach into the world, Safari.

IE although I regularly rant about it, and Firefox, which seems to do a better job on lots of things, especially managing Facebook applications.

Depends what computer I'm on (and/or whatever browser i feel like using),...
*Firefox (the main one i use...with both the ABP & NoScript addons!)
Firebird (the predisesor to Firefox)
Netscape (anyone here old enough to remember that ?? LOL)
I won't use IE at home (if i could delete the thing i would).
I deff wouldn't install Chrome (its a google thing afterall, who knows what sorta spyware is lurking in it)

Firefox is bothering me lately. It keeps crashing and freezing on me. I can't be bothered to get to the bottom of it other than checking that it was fully updated and I had no viruses. (*arrogant laugh* Me? Get a virus? Yeah, right!) Probably an extension/add on problem. Lazy Zophia is Lazy. Chrome works just fine so it's what I'm using right now.

Yes, I used it for a few years in the 90s.

That's my concern about Chrome, otherwise I might download it and try it out.

Chrome does have a few setting which do push the privacy boundery for me a bit i'll admit.

EG:
"Enable Instant for faster searching and browsing
Omnibox input may be logged Learn more"

But you can just turn those features off. So i did.Rolleyes

As for add-ons...the last time i tried a few a year ago, they were quite vague and broad with their permissions, so i decided against using them. But if it's changed to anything like Android's permissions system from the last time i used it. Than maybe i'll have another look into add-ons.

So hopefully that may put some fears to rest.Confusedmile:

I tend to use Chrome as my primary browser, and FireFox as a development browser. The firebug plug for FF, despite Chrome and IE having very similar features built in, is the best general development/debugging tool that I've found.

I've also been collecting stats on my blog for the past 4 years now and It looks like IE, FF and Chrome are all pretty much neck-and-neck(-and-neck, I suppose) with each other. Chrome is rising, IE is falling and FF has stays around the same as it was 4 years ago.

Here is more detail of my analysis, if you are interested: Browser Wars

NOTE: It is not scientific analysis, it is based on only my web properties (now consolidated into one blog) and the spike in favour of Windows Vista (in August 2008) is only as a result of me posting a blog entry about how to get around some installation problem on Windows Vista which caused a lot of people with that OS, naturally, to visit my blog who had the same issue.

Browsers is a problem.. There's a lot of them and, for me, it's hard to decide sometimes...

In my laptop I use the Chrome (Facebook, Forums, Torrents, news, etc),and Opera (bank and some sites that Chrome didn't work well).

In the PC, I only use Chrome, It seems better for reading in the big screen.

In the phone I use the default browser (Samsung's browser works well!),and Opera.
