A new dream thread.
VERY foggy dream from a couple nights ago.

Not sure if I can describe it well enough to be useful, but thought I'd try anyway.

I seem to have just gotten off an airplane I was riding on as a passenger with my "partner" (but this guy is nobody I know in real life). I think we were standing around waiting for something (luggage?) and another gay couple is nearby doing the same. We all say hello and one of the other guys mentions they're going for dinner and asks if we'd like to join them. I'm instantly interested in joining them, but I pause before I answer to look at my "partner" to see if he's interested too. He seems less so, but agrees to go along, so I answer for both of us, yes, we'd like to go to dinner.

That was the end of the dream, but one interesting dynamic that may not be obvious is that this whole interaction was basically conducted between me and the other guy in the couple who seemed to be more "dominant". In other words, each couple had a "dominant" (me and the other guy).

What's weird to me, in real life, I'm TOTALLY opposed to the idea of Dom/Sub, Top/Bottom type of relationships. I'm more interested in versatile, 50/50 partnerships.

That's it...FWIW...

@LateBloomer: One thing I should note is... electrical/lighting stuff is one of my *somewhat* "hobbies" (for lack of a better word) so that's probably one of the reasons why such stuff shows up in dreams? In real life I'm completely comfortable working with normal electric stuff/wireing (for my own use)

One interesting thing on that xmas lights dream from awhile back... As I took down my xmas lights this year I found multiple sets that have at least partially failed (all were new at the beginning of the season, what unreliable junk...I'm surprised I never noticed during the season. ) maybe that dream was some sorta subconscious 'preview' (even tho the failure itself was different)

---
With basement/upper floors in dreams...back when I was better with haveing some control in dreams & when i was able to sorta decide to go to the basement or upstairs of a place, I always picked 'basement' LOL ... because there always seemed to be more "interesting" stuff in basements. (the 'thought' sometimes crossed my mind that "it could be haunted" but I wasn't afraid)

@LateBloomer: Now on to your dream Smile
I'm thinking...you were 'interested' in getting to know the one guy simply because he was more like yourself (in this case you were both more dominant)?

In real life even though I've never been in a relationship/dated/etc I tend to think like you as far as versatile 50/50 partnerships go...

Every time I've "met someone" in a dream that I've been interested in, we've both been single (maybe because I've always been single in real life)

Here's alittle piece of a dream from last night (don't remember the preceding part)...

....I walk into the room where my computer is. My brother has come over to visit & is sitting at the desk talking to someone (maybe my mother). This is a fairly long desk & he's at opposite end as the computer, which I've left on and not only that have left my email program up...there's multiple of those "new reply to message" both from here & the other gay forum I'm on in the list of unread emails . I quickly go close it out hoping that neither one has seen it (but afraid they may have)...if they did nothing was said before I woke up.

*in real life that would be a very bad thing if it happened
*this dream was probably a warning to myself to stop leaving my email program open as I sometimes do (even tho my brother never goes in that room when visiting)

I had a very strange strictly Auditory only dream for the first time ever the other night. I heard a song that I've never heard before. It was being sung by a woman or group of women and it was very soothing. I remember while hearing it I thought that it was the best song I've ever heard, but I honestly can't remember a word of it. There was no visual component to the dream, just the song and my thoughts.

Ok, I can see why electricity figures so largely in your dreams now, but still, I do think there is a significance to the symbols our brain chooses to present in our dreams. After all, everyday you probably drink some water or eat some bread, why don't they figure as prominently in your dreams?

And yes, I agree, it can be more interesting to get "down and dirty" in the basement.

Thanks. I have a lot of thoughts about that dream, but none of them are really crystallized right now.

One thing I'm pretty sure of is that the other couple was a "reflection" of me and my "partner". You know, rather than a "shadow figure" it was a "shadow couple".

Just not sure what the point was...maybe some concern about waiting for "our things" while hanging out in the company of others....I dunno. My own dreams are pretty hard for me.

Seems like a pretty explicit reminder with not much symbolism there. I like to call those kinds of dreams "housekeeping". Just your mind trying to remind you to keep everything organized and in its place.

Hmm, interesting.
I've never had a dream like that.

Maybe you were visited by angels!

I'm joking, because like I said, I don't really buy into the metaphysical side of dreaming. Thanks for sharing.

I had a dream that I was naked in bed with Cesar Milan, who happened to have a super toned body and smelled delicious. We made out passionately, and then the morning after he had to go and shoot an episode for the dog whisperer but called the staff and told them that he wanted to start a little later so that he can spend more time with me….

Well, I do love dogs and I do watch the dog whisperer but never really thought about Cesar in that manner….interesting.
I will definitely look at him differently now. Haha.
