A new dream thread.
My mood goes up and down all time, I am ratter happy right now as me and 2 mates are going to plan a work trip to Norway together. Although nothing is set but we got many months till summer is here Smile But I've found my self also getting ratter grumpy lately, although not intentionally I've scolded my friends and family on things. I've just lost my job this Thursday so the weekend was pretty crappy. But How I am in change do I not know, maybe that I'm free to search or do whatever I feel like, although I got no income or freedom of moving out as planed. But what could the tribe scene mean, when he pours the bowls content on my head and decapitates me?
Sometimes you need a bit of chaos in your life to be able to shrug off pitiful disdain about something meaningless.

But you said before that Repeated dreams were a sign of an unsolved problem, can this dream be linked to the other dreams somehow?

Hmm, taking a trip with mates in the summer. Kind of reminds me of your car trip in your dream, to a city far away. And in a different season...part of your dream may be the *anticipation* of this trip.

And scolding your friends/family sounds like you beating up your brother.

I don't know how you're changing either, but in general, your age is right there where you're finished being a boy and now you're a man. It's a time of transition and let's be honest, in western society we don't do a very good job of initiating boys into manhood. Girls have the monthly "curse" which marks their initiation into womanhood. But boys really need a "rite of passage" too which marks their new beginning as a man. For some it can be an independent trip, or joining the military, or completing a project on their own like building a cabin or a boat...

...but I'm getting off topic...

The tribal scene is really difficult for me and will probably have to wait until I get home to do some research, but at first, pouring the bowl of cereal on your head seems humiliating to me. But perhaps this reflects the whole idea of a "rite of passage" that I was talking about. I mean, it's kind of ceremonial.

Question: when he slices your throat, is your head fully removed (decapitated as you say)?

I am not sure, as fast as he put the knife (Dagger, kris, something) to my throad and begins to cut do I wake up, I am not seeing what happends around my throat, different from this dream then the others is that I actually dreamed this from a first person perspective, my eyes were my eyes (How I saw I was fit was by looking at my self, not from above).

Hmm, so your perspective CHANGED TOO.

Smile

I love this dream.

Had a strange dream/nightmare last night.

I was gardening at the front of the house when I noticed a cave had opened up infront of a tree I planted a few years back. In the cave there were skeletons and creepy toys that started to come to life. There was a dock that lead to an underground canal down there as well. I somehow got on a boat that lead to this whole community of people that were living in this cave and were engaged in some sort of war over basic things (Food, water, shelter). I remember I was following this one woman around and she threatened and bargained with some old guy for a bottle of honey. After that I think I started to run away because I remember being back on the canal and pushing the raft forward with a long pole. It gets a little fuzzy after that point. Either way it wasn't a very pleasent dream. Fear played a strong role. Skeletons, creepy dolls coming to life, cave dwelling people fighting each other. I was then woken up by the sound of a chain saw as my neighbor was cutting down a tree close to my bedroom.

Sounds pretty creepy.

You start off trying to "cultivate" something out in front of your house (often a symbol of your "self"--that is, the space you occupy; your habitat).

But you leave this activity to explore something darker, lower, more mysterious. It's somewhere that you can't rely on your garden, but instead have to threaten and bargain. You don't like it and try to get back (to the garden).

The anonymous woman could be a shadow figure of your "feminine" self. Strangers that appear in dreams--no matter what their gender--are often "slices" or other aspects of ourselves.

In real life are you trying to get back to taking care of something after a frustrating experience at bargaining?

Well I'm pretty sure my dream was tied to my sister miscarrying again. So maybe the bargaining thing fits to some degree since for the first time in years I resorted to prayer because I didn't want to see her heart break all over again. Frustrated definately, I hate seeing my sister and my parents fall apart like that. Another strange aspect of the dream was that I felt like I had been down there before, like deja vu in a dream.

Either way, I have noticed I have more vivid and drawn out dreams around a full moon and I'm not entirely sure why.

Sister's miscarriage?!?!
Wow.
I never would have guessed that. Can you explain which parts of your dream are associated with that?

The toys mainly. Surrounded by skeletons and something that's meant to bring joy, start to come to life and bring with them a sense of fear and uncertainty. What was supposed to be happy and safe becomes sad and dangerous.

The people fighting in the cave could very well be my emotions trying to sort themselves out. The brother, the son, the friend, the enemy, the worrier, the vindicated, the in between. Could also be why I had a deja vu feeling as I would have just been recognizing the different aspects of my own personality being played out in front of me. And in the end my reaction was to run away suggesting that I likely haven't figured out how to deal with the situation yet.

Also the tree and the cave suggest something effecting my roots or my foundations. Which this situation has me down in spades for.

But that's just my interpretation. I don't know much about dream theory to be honest. But it was too vivid of a dream to not have any meaning to it.
