A new dream thread.
Earlier in the night I was having dreams about work, which kept waking me up because I find them stressful. Then I had a dream about being trapped in an apartment in a high rise building with zombies everywhere, that was way more fun, I had weird methods of luring them to places and killing a bunch at a time, or just kicking them off balconies. Though at one point, it was all quiet. I looked out to see a massive horde. They were watching something, their heads all moving at the same time. I peeked over and saw an old man on another balcony that looked like he was communicating to them. Then he went inside, I heard a couple zombies say 'lets get him' lol.

Thanks for the dream.

Stress dreams. Fun.

Feeling trapped? At work? At home? With the crowd of zombies you're hanging out with? Those mindless bastards who follow the old guy?

You need a new crowd.
Where? At work or home? Both?

I just woke up from a nightmare and I couldn't get back to sleep so I thought of writing my dream down while the memories were fresh.

Let me firstly tell that there has been a lot of family drama this week, I've still been somewhat the neutral part but still.

I was just visiting my mom. I had moved out (No scene before this scene), I was thin and fit, I was happy, I had a bf/gf (I had no image of who but I knew I had a lover and I also refereed to it many times in the dream, but there were no name calling or any kind of memory of that person) and everyone seemed so glad to see me.

My mother and her bf had renovated the whole house and it just looked epic. I remembered a huge hall, but it was snowing in the hall, so white it looked like Christmas. I jumped up and down in the snow and just had fun, but why did it snow inside the house? There were no clouds to, it was like a part of the Harry Potter series. I went into the living room and cuddled some with my 2 cats before they were serving dinner, my brother and her gf was eating with us to.

I don't remember what we ate or what we talked about, but we all looked so happy to see each other. My mom had also built a guest house next to the garage where I was going to stay in. So I walked in there and took a shower to get dressed, but I suddenly got distracted by my computer, and so I sat by it and played games (no recall of what game or any) and I just played for hour and hour and hour, felt like days. But I wasn't tired.

After a while I noticed something strange. I had lit a candle on fire, but after checking upon it, it was burning at the side and not upwards. It looked like a wormhole but it was the candle who had melted the candle on the side, but the top was untouched. Like if someone just took a big big candle and took a bite from the side. (not that candle but that kind of candle)

Do I grabbed my lit candle and went out of the guesthouse, it was snowing. So I passed by the house and suddenly when I came to the front door, the lock was burning. It was a wooden door but only the iron lock was burning strangely. But then I looked around, and the whole house had burned to the ground. I became very frightened and so I tried to call the fire department 5 times but no one answered. I didn't notice anything before I got to the door that was standing up by it self.

I also called everyone who was dining with us (my mother, my brother & his gf and my step dad) but no answer, but I heard my mothers phone rang, so I followed its trace until I found my mothers burned corpse (Strangely the phone wasn't affected by the fire). My heart felt heavy and I mourned her death, I also started to wonder if there were any more who have died by the fire, so I glanced at the burned landscape and found my 2 cats burned corpses and then 3 more unidentified corpses. I was so sad, I was so frustrated, I was so heartbroken, so I just grabbed my bike (Which just appeared out of no where) and started pedaling for life.

I was just biking to an unknown destination, but after a while my vision faded and I woke up. I felt like I have been drinking 10 cans of energy drinks, I also felt the need of going to the toilet and was thirsty as hell to.

Any ideas?

Hi Zet!
Thanks for sharing your dream.

Sorry to hear about the family drama in real life. This dream definitely sounds like a response to that.

The first part seems like a fantasy (everyone happy, together, eating, surrounded by loved ones, you're in love, happy and fit).

Then the second part seems like a total disaster (house burned down, people dead, you're alone, going somewhere with no direction).

There's a TENSION in this dream, tension between fantasy and disaster. Also, you're separated from the main house and the rest of the family when you stay in the guest house.

As I've often written, sometimes when we dream of houses, those houses symbolize our sense of "self".

For instance, your mother's "renovated" house may symbolize something new about herself and/or her family. It sounds positive and I'm glad you were invited to join the dinner with the others, but I'm also sad that you got put in the guest house, which I think may symbolize your sense of being a "guest" in your family. That is to say, not truly a member worthy of staying in the main house...I'm not sure, and don't want to put words in your mouth. I'm just offering ideas and my impressions.

But ultimately, no matter how nice the renovations to your mother's "house", it burned to ground. Do you feel she has been trying extra hard lately to be "newly nice" only to explode in a flaming mess?

You also try to call for help but no one answers.

Then leave, destination unknown.

It sounds hopeful at first, like a new beginning, but then it just all falls apart and you're alone.

Does that sound anything like the family drama you recently experienced?

Well actually yes. A lot of things match from what you've said Smile

My mother and I moved into a house about a year ago with moms bf and son. The time has been well... But since last summer has there been a lot of tension. Basically it started out as a beef between my brother and his gf against my "Step" brother, and although I really had no part of it, Have I always stood in the middle of the crossfire.

Only difference from this fight and the fight that happened last summer was that mom and her bf was home when it occurred. My mom is taking my brothers side, and my step dad on his sons side, while I'm somewhat in the middle (Generally I'm on my brothers side, but unlike my mother and the rest, am I not mad at my step dad, since it was my step brother who caused all this hell and not my step dad) and I'm only saying to everyone that we should sit together and settle it once and for all so the tension and all its drama can be gone.

I've felt for a very long time that all I want to do is move out from this town and to create a new start, in late July to early August did I went all out on a trip to London to apply for job, think I applied for 40 jobs somewhat in a week but it went no where. But now have I applied for a full expediences paid education at the Finnish border, 13 hours away from my town, and I'm pretty sure I'll get in since I match all the requirements and its very few that has applied to that education due to its poor location. I guess that's the "you try to call for help but no one answers, then you leave to an unknown destination".

As you said with the house, I've always seen my self as the third party, I've always been a very "neutral" kind of guy somehow if it makes sense (Emotionally and socially), as example my class in high school was separated into many different kind of groups and never got true friend during that time, but nor were I bullied. I was just that kind of guy that everyone seem to like and can talk to during breaks and class but never really hang out with.

Perhaps that's what with the separated guest house, since I'm never the part of the problem but always the part who has to take care of the aftermath.

Glad I could provide a little feedback.

Your 20s are tough. Hang in there. This horrible economy doesn't help much. But be patient with yourself and your family. Things will improve as you get older, gain experience and settle down somewhere.

Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your drama. I can relate in a lot of ways, having been the 'neutral' guy in high school and in family disputes. Best of luck to you fella. Smile

I had the most beautiful dream a couple of days ago. It still had a tiny hint of horror but not nearly as much as my other dreams.

I was going to university, but instead I go "no no I'm going to antarctica"

So off I went, it was just round the corner. It was actually a high mountain rather than antarctica.
My mother and I were there as part of a tourist group, and we were in an igloo with sort of steps and windows. I wanted to go and see the view from up top and it was stunning, the sunrise was cast over a high crag that was covered by the snow in such a way that the white ice and the black stone formed a lovely pattern.

It was all extremely cold, and suddenly at the summit, there was a mysterious lake. There was one thin gravel and concrete strip of land that I nearly fell off and into the freezing water, which was so pristine it looked like the tea in a teacup.

In the middle of the lake was an island with a heated glass room. It looked like a garden display. Inside there were two collection boxes for christian charities, both with Korean on them. I put money in the right one, and a ball came down one of those games where a ball falls down through a forest of pins and it lands at the bottom in a specific slot.

On the way back, I noticed the ice thawing, a yellowish green grass growing and it turned into a normal hill, and it turned out I was on Victoria peak in Hong Kong.

I am so sorry for taking so long to respond to your dream.

It is a very beautiful dream. Full of possibility and adventure. Not sure if you have an actual journey planned soon, or maybe you're making plans for university. But it does sound like you're thinking of the opportunities travel will bring you in the future.

Off to Antarctica kind of sets the tone of adventure, far away places and extremes. Mountains often represent challenges; something to be scaled and summited.

The fact you made it to the summit in your dream is very positive along with the sunrise (representing a new start). Typically, things that rise and look out are positive (the stairs to the igloo and the windows).

But an igloo is a temporary structure; a short term dwelling (like a dormitory?).

The contrast of white snow and black stone is interesting to me. Not only do the colors "clash", but the materials are totally different. Snow being another state of water (solid, liquid, gas...ice, water, fog/cloud) but stone always being stone (immutable). Not sure what the contrast is indicating but it's an interesting image.

The mysterious lake with the island and glass house at the top of the mountain is even more difficult for me.

In a general sense, you do have water (life) in various states in this dream (ice, snow, liquid) which indicates change...And the fresh yellow green grass growing under the melting ice is a HUGE symbol of transition; like the Spring Season; rebirth, growth, etc...

I enjoyed your dream. I hope some of this rings a bell for you.
