Soon enough ! make sure you dont lose track of the time , passes by sooooo quickly.

Mark as for decisions...

Generaly speaking when we have to make them yes is confusing but have to keep in mind that we are lucky to have priviledge of choice. Doubts will be there , the possibility of the chance.. 'what if'. However once we make a decision we have to accept what it comes with them and make the best of the situation. Give time to see how it works out and dont over think . If we still feel unsure or worse unhappy then a change has to be made given we know what we want and go for it. Thats how i see it and that comes from someone who is quite indecisive .

As for uni, in your age a lot of people are not sure about the course they are in. It is usually a choice that made for them by someone else usually in the family. The the question pops up: Do i enjoy it? Or better say can i study it? However the subject you study is quite broad and you can use this degree to do whatever you decide to do in future. Business is everything... is Arts, media, publishing, gonverment, music, theater, pshychology, everything! I d say get on with it , its only 3-4 years then you see how it goes.

Thanks Spoty. I just, feel in a way, I have to decide on me, but some decisions I dont feel are in my best interests. I need to discover myself, as without knowing myself, how can I decide anything which will benefit me.

You know what i strongly believe though... From the moment we started talking and thinking we know what we want, what we wish for and within time we forget. Based in that i could say you do know what you want but is somewhere buried and you need to dig it out.

Whether that is or isn't your case experimenting and trying things out to see what suits you best is a way to find out who you are and what is in you best interests. That perhaps is quite a general thing to say but if you elaborate on your feelings and the cause of it i will be more specific and helpful.Wink

GayComputerDude Wrote:decisions are tough

and from my experience .. when you think you made the right one .. you sometimes regret it

and when you think you made the wrong one .. you sometimes enjoy it

you have choices .. my choice is to live in the moment .. what I feel now is what I do .. what becomes of it I'll see down the road

Very well said. If it is the wrong choice then hopefully you will learn a life lesson and carry on living life.

Hokay, for me the easiest way to look at this type of situation is that when you are at a point in your life where you have to make a choice - do I go left or right ? Which University do I attend ? Do I run that traffic light or stop ? Do I come out of the closet or not ? What cologne shall I wear ?

ALL these decisions can be represented as forks in the road. It doesn't matter how major or how minor, a choice must be made and we must move on - otherwise we'll just stand here, and nothing will get done.

When you look at things in that light you are able to see that choices are a necessary evil, and can be both liberating and restrictive, depending on the choices we make.

Additionally, your choice in a given situation can be dictated by your mindset - you might ask yourself in a particular situation "what is the right thing to do ?" and come to one conclusion, whereas asking yourself "what do I want to do ?" brings you to another alternative ... fight or flight - that's a good example. You see a guy being pushed around at the bar by two lads ... do you step in and help him out ? Surely that's the right thing to do ? Or do you perhaps sit and say nothing - i.e. taking the safer road ... ? See what I mean ? Depending on what standpoint you view the situation from, your response will probably vary.

Rarely are things so beautifully black-and-white in life as to be either right or wrong ... more often than not they inhabit that shade of grey area inbetween.

So my advice to you is this ... if you're having trouble making a choice or a decision, ask yourself this very simple question ... "what would seem to be the right choice for me at this particular time ?", and work from there ? OR, if you're aiming like my best friend Peter and I, and try to work to a personal code ? Ask yourself what the right thing to do would be, and work from there.

In the case of universities and so on, it's probably down more to the issue of research - what uni offers the best course/s for your chosen subject - how far is it from your friends and family, that sorta thing ...

And remember ... it doesn't matter what issue lies before you, if you want to gauge other people's responses, you can always poll the wider audience by asking us !!

Whilst this is going to sound clichéd, there are a number of good lines that come from the Matrix Trilogy of movies, including this one (said by the Oracle).

Quote:"We can never see past the decisions we don't understand"

... at least that how I remember the quote .

I think it's actually quite liberating to take a step back sometimes and say to yourself "I don't know, because I am not meant to know - that question is beyond me". It reminds me that we all have limits, and whilst we may try to push the boundaries as often as we can, we can't know everything, but that's ok Confusedmile:.

... and you're welcome Saltybeanz. Hey - if you've changed your name and this is now your old one, perhaps have a word with Spotysocks and/or Andy to see whether they can change it at their end ? Might that be more to your liking ?

Perhaps an example of a decision that you'd like to change and can Wink.
