Nessun Dorma.

Hands down! Classic.

Quote:English Translation of "Nessun Dorma"

Nobody shall sleep!...
Nobody shall sleep!
Even you, o Princess,
in your cold room,
watch the stars,
that tremble with love and with hope.
But my secret is hidden within me,
my name no one shall know...
No!...No!...
On your mouth I will tell it when the light shines.
And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!...
(No one will know his name and we must, alas, die.)
Vanish, o night!
Set, stars! Set, stars!
At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!

I quite like opera, I have to pick up my subscription for the 2012-2013 season at the end of the month.

I saw Hiromi Omura in Il Trovatore last year, she was quite good.

My favourite operas are probably Mozart's comedies, like the Marriage of Figaro and Don Giovanni. They're just overflowing with one sublime aria after another.

And for fun:

When a subject is highly controversial — and any question about sex is that — one cannot hope to tell the truth. One can only show how one came to hold whatever opinion one does hold. One can only give one's audience the chance of drawing their own conclusions as they observe the limitations, the prejudices, the idiosyncrasies of the speaker.

You might like this (though not strictly opera, per se).

well, never really a big opera fan (they put me to sleep!) but one of my favorite is Vitas.

Yeah...I'm fascinated by the guy's voice (how the fk does he hit those high notes??) Plus, he's kinda hot too

He uses falsetto, like many counter-tenors.

Only a few male singers today can reach the upper ranges naturally.
