Maybe a 'lil Drinking Problem?
#11
@seeking Thanks, I hope so too.

I know I could probably find a better paying job, sure, but it is difficult to be happy. My last job, I was making what I made at my current job (before recent raises) but I hated it and jumped ship at the right time too, otherwise I would have been laid off 6 months later -- long story. I feel like if anything can take a toll on your happiness and overall quality of life is having a job you hate.... That's not to say my life is perfect...it isn't and some of things I have gone through are good enough reasons to want to leave.

Then again, I should ask myself, am I dateable? How do people from the outside looking in see me? Or am I just being too hard on myself thinking I might not be dateable?

Hey @InbetweenDreams , from what I’ve learned about you in the last couple of months you are a very dateable guy, who knows how to compromise and goes out of his way to meet others. YOU are considering driving 2 h to meet this guy. Have you discussed your assumptions regarding his potential alcoholism with him? There is also the possibility of him currently abusing alcohol to deal with his unemployment without being addicted. Just my 2 cents

@Bhp91126 Thank you, I appreciate your comments. I guess I feel that not everything in my life is in order and I guess you can argue that who's life is really...but if only I was wiser a few years ago. Hindsight is 20/20.....

Anyway, no I have not brought up the alcoholism bit...I actually haven't talked to him today. Got some mixed vibes from him yesterday over all that too. So I will wait to see if he messages me back in the next few days.

Well, haven't heard from the drinker lol....Oh well. So I hopped on POF and started talking to a guy down in Atlanta, he's in IT and seems like a nice guy and he's handsome we seemed to hit it off well and texted me first thing this morning. He said his lunch plans got cancelled and asked I wanted to meet for lunch and he drove up from Atlanta, which is a long drive 1:40...we got some lunch (I paid) and we went for a hike. I thought things went well, we talked pretty much the entire time. Everything was great until we got back to his car and the goodbye felt awkward...so maybe it didn't go as well as I thought. We'll see but for as chatty as he was last night and this morning I figured he would have texted me letting me know he made it back home... Call me pessimistic but $10 says I don't hear from him again.

Sounds like it went pretty well to me, have you guys talked since then?

Not yet. It hasn't been that long. I don't consider officially being ghosted for a few days, but I'm pretty sure that's what's happening though. All I know is something felt off at the very end and I can only speculate why, perhaps he was expecting to make out (in a Walmart parking lot)?

Then again, perhaps I'm dodging a bullet and just don't realize it. I got the impression while we were talking that he just broke up and is why he is moving next weekend... So I would likely just be a rebound anyway it seems.

I think just getting to spend time together is a major feat! Keep up that sort of thing and sooner or later things will go further.

It is, seems guys are either too chicken or think they're too good for me. I'd like to think I'm dodging bullets but perhaps I'm the bullet?

@"kindy64" I'm not so sure that I would say that I am responsible...I guess to an extent but there's definitely things I can improve on...but not really wanting to go over all that.

There's no telling what he was wanting or expecting and if that was the case he could have said or done something. Who knows I probably got on his nerves, or something. I don't remember farting or anything.

Anyways....NEXT! lol
