I know how you feel, my mom sent me to California (the opposite coast as we were in New York) to stay with my Aunt (who's also my Godmother) for the summer.
On the day of my 15'th birthday, I gave her many hints, she ignored me all day and actually bought a cake for a neighbors anniversary (I thought she was going to the bakery for me).
I felt all alone and ignored so I just left and went to Los Angeles (about a 2 hour drive away)
I hitched a ride and stayed in a hotel (using the money my mom gave me) and had a wonderful time free of adult supervision, I went to Disneyland and met lots of people.
Try to go out and meet new people.
If you just do activities you like, you'll meet people with similar tastes.
The British are much friendlier than they are reputed to be.
