Floods, droughts , tornadoes and bushfires, in the last 24 hours.I love this country

24 right now, where I am , we are preparing for a possible flash flood a for tomorrow and a storm for tonight.

The usual stuff we do when QLD has flooded, fill up the generator, move the animals to higher ground , tie everything down, move cars away from trees, check all fences and gates.

The six tornadoes that started in QLD have moved down to Northern NSW and are heading South, are moving at a much faster pace , they should hit Sydney by tomorrow morning , after that we get hit.

There is going to be a fair bit of rain in this as long as ex-TC Oswlad keeps his arse hanging over the ocean dragging the moist air in.

We have had 31mm of rain in 6 hrs, 46km/h (25kt) winds so far and we are only just getting the bottom (Southern) end of this systems. Expecting 200-300mm over night and wind gusts upto and over 120km/hr.

The bulk of this weather system is still sitting over the Sunshine Coast north of Brisbane (About 200km north) and moving rather slowly, but picking up speed.

I'm not terribly concerned for us right now as we have been through worse in the last 10 years. I am concerned about Grafton and Coffs Harbour over the border because I sense we will be hearing BIG new out of those 2 towns in the next 48-72hrs.

Couldn't tell you exactly how much rain we have had or how strong the winds have been over night as this weather has taken out most weather stations on the QLD SE corner. The last reading in Springbrook which is just over the ranges from me was 520mm (21 inches about) in 20 hours. On this side of the ranges it would be nowhere near that, I hazard to guess that we got about 200mm (8 Inches) over night.

The wind is blowing about 90-100km and gusting to 140km/h.

On the news, I am not sure if they are repeating last nights news, they are saying there is 'worse to come.'
