dont make excuses for your self. where you have issues in this area you excel in others.

I decided that I am going to go see a specialist that I saw online and he is like perhaps 100 miles from where I am living and decided that I am going to spend the money and see him and start my path to trying to get cured. It seems like that I am only thinking about children when I am depressed and that is like 15% of my life and the rest I am thinking nothing except about guys.

As with mrk2010 I am not too worried about you or the views that you have about me. Like you said before you have anger problems in the first place so the response from you is very normal and even though I do not have one inch of respect for you because you are a complete stranger to me and are just some random poster on this forum I am not going to hold a grudge or resentment against you for speaking your mind. What I find hilarious is that you acted like everyone agrees with you when in fact they don't, that gave me a chuckle. If you are true to your words you will not respond to this because you are done with this post, yet I have a good feeling that you will respond because you just seem to weak to not give in. (Does that sound mean? Thats exactly the vibe you have had towards me just because I told everyone about an attraction that I have)

I am on the path to changing my life and I don't care about the hate that is towards me because nobody is going to change me besides me and the help that I get. I am done posting here because I got the response that I wanted and I am happy with that. Thanks again for everyones words and views, I really appreciate it and I am off to drive to go see my new therapist and start the road to recovery. Thank You

Good luck with recovering! I don't know anything about pedophilia, to me a child is a child and I could never find them attractive, but I understand some people do suffer from it and I'm glad you've chosen to get help rather than act upon these feelings.

mrk2010 Wrote:I'm sorry but these are my views, and if you can't accept that well I'm sorry. I am thinking of the members of gayspeak who are minors and who may be having contact with this gentleman, in no way am I ignorant I am thinking of child protection and I desperately think Andy needs to address this. If you can't see this I am sorry.

I don't like to choose sides when it comes to arguements, but I have to agree and disagree with Mrk2010.

I was 13 when a 23 year old man decided to start stalking me, and still does to this day! He claims he loves me and blah blah. He told me he used to watch me at the bus stop and knew my schedule and everything.

I'm a person who doesn't notice people around when I'm walking, but because of this, I've become strictly aware of my surroundings, although sometimes I slip up.

and in general, I just don't like men around anyone I love or people who cannot defend themselves. It's probably an issue I got from not having a father for 17years, growing up not trusting men, but that's how I am.

But on the flipside- I disagree on the fact that, though his thoughts may be perverse and sick, you cannot condemn him for it, because it's how he is. The man that stalks me even now, I've contacted him against my mother's wishes, and actually talked to him and tried to figure out why he likes me and why he doesn't like other men his own age.

He told me he that he's not like them, that he wants someone who "hasn't been around the block and back", basically someone innocent[Virgin]. I told him politely that I wasn't interested and that he should try to atleast find someone who is his own age that he can love. He insists that he loves me, but I told him he doesn't and that it isn't right , even if I am of age now. Because I personally do not and will not sleep with someone, just to sleep with them.

He's not one of those lunatics that sits in his basement, on his computer perpetually masturbating to [child]porn, but rather a normal regular guy, with a nice job at the airport. I even offered to be his friend, but he only claims that he doesn't want to be just friends, so I declined him.
~

So on one hand I can agree with Mrk2010, although you all seem not to, but only because I have a general distrust of any man I don't explicitly know, having been raised by women in a family dominated by women. I don't even trust the men in my family, because I know what they're like, furthering my distrust of men. It may sound weird coming from me, a "love for all" guy, but it's just how I am. Had you all grown up like me, you would see where I'm coming from.

It's even harder for me, because I'm attracted to guys and am a guy myself.

But on the flip side, I disagree, because I still believe that everyone deserves a chance, even when it comes to redeeming themselves, because like someone said, we are all humans and deserve equal oppurtunity and libreties.

Also, help can only be given to those who ask for it and mean it. If you are unwillinging to change, then you never will, because only you can make a change within yourself.

It takes a strong and brave person to protect someone from someone else, but an even stronger and braver person to allow the attacker to protect the attackee from themselves.

"Be the change you want to see in the world"
Do we want to see people, no matter the affliction, discriminated/abused/bashed and basically destroyed, all based on superior human morals or rather everyone trying to help one another and get along harmoniously?

I'm not saying let the "sick-o's" be sick-o's and possibly torment whomever/whatever, but rather try to help them, even if it doesn't seem like help.

They're only sick, because that's what you call them, rather than helping them recover.

& Neither Pedophilia or Homosexuality or even Heterosexuality are diseases. It's just a different way to be born, like being Black/White/Spanish/Russian.

But in the end, all humans are technically flawed, so any angle you look at it from, is going to have holes and pit-falls.

Sorry to dissapoint anyone, I probably shouldn't have expressed my opinion, but I did so...
~

By the way, the greeks did this all the time, though now is often confused with Pedophilia, when in actuality it was called Pederasty .

QueenOdi, thanks for bringing in a little nuance... it's quite essential, even though paedophilia remains a criminal offense in many countries. We've got to acknowledge that, and there's a reason for that.

I would like to thank mrk for his PM. All good.

I would also like to say that my choice of words was not right, and I shouldn't have use a word "disease." I am not sure what other English word I should have used, but it was hardly this one.

OP, I hope you will find a way how to fight it. I am glad you are willing to do it.

I think emotions have been allowed to get out of control in this thread. YES paedophilia is heinous and those that abuse children in any way, shap or form do not deserve to be a part of our society.

Some peoples responses are the REAL reason why paedophelia is so heinous. My personal opinion is that anyone thinking of or having commit a sex crime against a person under the age of consent should be chemically castrated.

This subject does anger me as much as mrk, but I have the benefit of age and experience on my side, it's hard to control emotions until you have taught yourself and learned your lessen on where the line is. I understand his reaction, I understand why he has reacted the way he has, I am not going to condone it nor am I going to condemn him.

As for the self confessed paedophile hiding behind anonimity, seeking treatment is something you should have done a long time before you came here and confessed. 'I have looked and no one wanted to help me..." is bullshit and a cop out, I don't believe you. If you were sexually abused as a child then any health care worker has an obligation to help you and refer you to specialists IF you had disclosed this fact and then you could have dealt with your current predicament.

Anyone else who wishes to respond, please take a deep breath, count to 10 before typing out a reply..then another deep breath, count to 10 before posting Wink
