I love bareback sex
#31
the point is, how do you know you will not get hiv if you use condom.

condom is not 100% safe according to scientific research

If it bursts or slips off, yes, it doesn't protect you then. But overall a condom will protect you 99.99% times from getting HIV if your partner does turn out to be positive There are HIV+/HIV- couples who have been using condoms for years, not passing the virus on. That itself is a good proof that condoms work.

To be honest, I find barebacking irresponsible. If you regularly bareback with strangers, you are bugchasing, even if you do not want to admit it. And I find myself questioning why taxpayer funded health service should cover the costs of your treatment, if you made the decision to engage in such self destructive behaviour. (I guess it's different in the US)

Also, what makes you want to destroy yourself? Is it your inner homophobia killing yourself?

Having said that, I have barebacked myself but only with a committed partner I trust. Doing so, risk of becoming infected remains negligible. And then you can get all the great condomless sex too Confusedmile:

I don't know if you are talking to me or saying something in general to other readers.

if you are talking to me, i can tell you that i do not propose bareback sex, i never encourage people have bareback because i say condom is not 100% safe. what i told is that hiv is not only in the sperm itself, it can be somewhere else. for example, blood. saliva. there is no evidence that anal sex and condom contribute to hiv +.

Why stop there? Maybe people who chose to eat too much and have associated health problems should not receive medical care...

...same with smokers, drinkers and people who just do not take care of themselves.

BTW...you will be happy to know that the taxpayers in the US do not cover people who do not have insurance and many people with AIDS do not get any meds or medical assistance.

There's a short film on the subject of bugchasing, if anyone has seen it...

I was under the impression that it did not carry in saliva. Could be wrong.

I think the facts around that are misconstrued. When I went in for my first HIV test, I was told by an HIV technician that HIV is prevalent in all bodily fluids. When I asked about it, he said that you would have to consume 'gallons' of saliva to even have a risk of contracting the virus.

I still need to go in for another test. I was going to yesterday, but I was under the assumption I had a date. Then I fell asleep, haha.

Sorry, the second part of my post was me talking in general about bugchasers. Never meant to say it to you.

Alcohol and cigarettes are taxed, at least partially offsetting the associated cost and somewhat discouraging drinking/smoking.

I would argue that costs associated with HIV are significantly larger, as HIV requires lifelong treatment and has diminishing effect on life expectancy thanks to the new generations of drugs. Yet, of course, it would be practically impossible to identify and 'tax' bugchasers.

Obesity and not taking care of yourself, obviously, is an issue requiring attention. If preventative measures fail, taxes or other 'punishments' might be justified to deal with increasing health care costs. To be fair rationing is already taking place in tax payer funded health systems (If I'm right, nonalcoholics are higher priority when it comes to liver transplants). In case of US, such measures might be justified by health promotion not offsetting any costs.

What I am trying to show is that I merely asked a question, raising a complex dilemma on dealing with such behaviour. I believe that everyone with HIV should get medical treatment and I am most definitely not happy to hear that many in US don't . Yet, I do believe that some behaviours should be penalized both as a preventative measure and to potentially offset the cost associated. It shouldn't be withdrawal of treatment, though, as it defies the purpose of health care systems. There are alternative ways of dealing with this.
