Tyler Clemente case-sad ending
#1
Dharun Ravi, the kid, who used his web cam to filmed Tyler Clemente having some sort of sexual encounter with another man and then broadcasted it to all of his friends causing Clemente to commit suicide shortly thereafter, was just sentenced . He gets only 30 days in Jail, 3 years probation and some fines. How sad, that's a relative slap on the wrist for what he did! Meanwhile someone with over 25 grams of a controlled substance got sentenced to 25 years in prison for drug possession. Justice in America is such a joke.

You're quick, aren't you? lol

It is sad, but ultimately the guilt will or should eat at him.

I'm also dissapointed that Tyler's only resort was suicide, especially in this era with so much support, atleast in America. Either end is pretty dismal.

Convict the man-boy who did this?

Dissapointment & Anguish/Sadness for Tyler who commited suicide?

It's ultimately a Sad case, and though every person is different, I personally would not have committed suicide, nor would I want a guy who probably wanted in, to be jailed just because he recorded me.

I've had people videotape me and take pictures of me and all I do is pose when I catch them. Why let them hurt me? I wouldn't prosecute them, because I'm not as petty as they are and I wish that Tyler thought this way too, even though his situation was more intimate.

It's sad when people feel so ashamed of themselves that they so no other relief than to kill themselves. Quite sad :frown: . Especially a fellow Musician/String Player.

OMG I HATE THE U.S. LEGAL SYSTEM. It's full of gaps and loopholes. It's terrible what happened and it's a damn shame that they let Dharun Ravi get off with such minimal charges D;

Well the legal system in general is flawed, so I don't know why people are surprised  .

In his defense, which he really doesn't need anymore obviously, he didn't actually kill Tyler, though his actions are not condoned by me either.

It's more of a moral injustice/issue I think.

The question is; Is indirect/unintentional death/murder the same as direct and intentional death/murder?

I'm so glad I'm a Musician, cause all that would have my head spinning for days.

Still a sad situation, but my Grandmother always says things have to get worse before they get better, however unfortunate.

The result, the conviction, probably would have been the same if the case was in Australia or the UK, unfortunately that is how flawed legal systems work.

Oh! he/she is a good boy/girl who did a bad thing' - I'm getting really sick of hearing this when young people are arrested and put on trial for committing crimes...good boys and girls DON'T commit crimes.

Good boys don't put spy camera's in peoples bedrooms and broadcast a closeted teens homosexual encounter over the internet. A good boy would respecy another's privacy. The damage he has caused and the justice he recieved don't seem to match.

Hello,
I think the reason he was let off with a light caution as sad as it is is because he didnt kill the lad and probably wanted to do it for a laugh and cause humiliation... Sentences regarding recording equitment can be lightly sentenced and to be honest if someone did it to me id say post it on the wide web infact ill do it for ya as i dont need to hide the fact I make soft porn unlike you!

RIP to the one who died

It is but how can you commit someone of murder if they didnt ppick up a weapon and hit him with it? The guy could of said ok so you caught me kissing a guy so what??? I know that sounds harsh but it should have options of both sides and yes someone has died as a result but the guy didnt make him put pencils up his nose and bang his head on the table (worse way to die in my book!)

After what he did, something tells me that he hasn't got much of a conscience anyway.
