should gays arm them selves (US)

Again you are right, guns are not the problem. A gun never did anything on it's own. It's the people that think it's some kind of right of passage, proof of power to own a gun that are the problem. Owning a gun does not make you more manly, stronger, smarter, or better in any way.

A gun is a tool to be used for it's intended purpose. Unfortunately too many use them for other than what they were intended for and, that pushes even more people to own guns and, in this country, especially living in a location where it would be several minutes before help arrived, there is no other defense against an armed idiot, of which there are plenty of in this country.

that's the problem, people having guns for the wrong reasons. I'm sure it is a fraction of a percentage that own guns for the wrong reason, but really, any is too much. but you shouldn't punish the majority because of the minority, especially if it is extremely small.

i think that cops should use some lasser guns and not bullet guns. if a cop can control a person shooting him with a temporary numbness weapon...could be better. so, if people wants guns why not the use of these types of guns?

I think you mean taser... but there are inherent problems with those. Limited range, 1 shot, and not always effective. A guy could literally wear a heavy jacket and not be effected at all. And sometimes even if they hit bare skin they don't work. There is a youtube video I would post but it has foul language.

And you can't engage multiple targets.

Limited capacity in both barb packs and battery capacity in each pack are a drawback also.

It should be noted that the Tasers civilians are allowed to buy are not the same as the ones police can use.

The only difference is the length of the shock cycle. 5 seconds for LEO vs 30 for civilians.

You get confidence and can beat up anyone who wants to pick on you with ease. I dislike guns.

I ended up pressing the thanks button by accident haha wasn't my intention but I won't remove it now

Although martial arts is a discipline worth learning and practicing, it is difficult to defend oneself (unarmed) against an opponent with a gun. Disarming techniques are difficult to pull off in calm situations nevermind applying them in a real life or death situation.

I'm constantly disturbed by the entire scenario. How did we as humanity let it get this far? I truly believe that crime, murder and other chaotic scenarios are all symptoms of a troubling society. Why not ask what we can do to fix the core of the problem, rather than what can be done to quell the symptom?

Arm yourself with knowledge, experience, ambition, and passion. We need unconventional methods of dealing with these situations.

We have always been here as far as violence goes. We are a violent species. Since the beginning of mankind, we have been killers. It started with sticks and stones, but being the amazing species we are, we found ways to kill more efficiently. In all reality, people worry about one of the least efficient means of killing other people (guns). We are far and away past that with NBC warfare technologies. If someone were to effectively take away ALL firearms from civilians, that wouldn't stop them from killing. Look around you? what COULDN'T you kill someone with? That list is far smaller than what you could. people need to remember that...

From what I remember the wire length is shorter also for civilian models.
