Yes, some men need to get a beard trimmer and set in on 2-3 and run it over their body every week or so. This is like getting a hair cut (a trim) not like shaving your head (bald).
My partner (who has lots of hair on legs and chest, a bit I don't dare mention on his back as he would freak to know about them) Uses the beard trimmer to keep all the hairs on chest, belly and down around the um, you know.... shorter. Not completely removed, not so short as they stick up like a porcupine, just a tad shorter and more even.
I even use it for the handful of chest hairs I have (I set it on 2) and for the hairs down around - well you know. Just to keep everything looking tidy and even.
Hairy legs tend to stay shorter and even on even the hairiest of men. It has something to do with wearing pants, jeans socks and other clothing. Below the belt clothing tends to rub more at the legs/hair than above the belt clothing.
