I really hope you end up with the old guy, if even briefly. I don't think you have to be so tripped out on just letting things happen for themselves and I wouldn't hurt new guy, but if old guy wants to be closer I would follow that of course. It's just that sometimes guys like to have the "safely distant faux gay relationship" and we really love 'em - but it never goes anywhere or goes once or twice and the air goes outta that balloon.
Keep all the friends you can and I'll pray you get a fairytale relationship with "old guy" for as long as you both shall have joy together - I'll also pray that you are able to be calmer within your self and not so on the edge. We hurt bad enough in life without letting stuff hurt us more.
But your story got me remembering high school guy. We did it once and he freaked and that was that. I still know him and in my case? I have to be SO glad we didn't stay together. He's such a misery these days!
