Hmm.

For some odd reason I am really noticing fat people a lot. I guess they have been there all along, but recently it seems that there is a huge spike in the number of fat people I see everywhere.

A family of fat seems to be more typical now days around these parts than in years past.

True. I put that picture up 'cause when I think "dad" I think of my dad, and my dad is a big fat guy and I was a big fat kid. Obesity is spiking all over the world though, mostly in poorer areas like Mexico and even India. It's an interesting topic. I don't know if it's the change in food or the change attitude; probably a bit of both I guess.

I think its all the indoor sports, MTV, Game-Box, TV, Computer, Cell-phones...

Around here in summer time there is a singular lack of children screaming, laughing and playing. Back when I was a kid I recall that every kid was outside screaming, laughing, playing physical games.

I was shocked to learn that my great nieces never played 'Red Rover', kick the can... and a lot of the games I played as a kid.

I agree. Staying inside has become pretty awesome. :tongue:

But I don't understand why parents allow their kids to sit around (my parents included). Their kids, make 'em go outside. Then again, I don't know what it's like to be a parent, so... what do I know? Part of the problem (and this may be kind of out there) is a lack of enthusiasm and reverence for life itself. Life for many people seems to be about "killing time" and getting through the day instead appreciating our limited existence, and this drollness will of course seep into a child.
