I recognized a lot of "black moms" in "white moms," too, however that was mostly in Texas (where I believe Tinks is from), especially rednecks. Both communities were Christian and homophobic while also having a lot of vice and violent upbringings, and just as she's witnessed South LA parties get wild and raided but at the same time they might have lookouts who speak with personal radios while I've seen something similar at a wild keg party in a pasture, this being a dry county where it was illegal to sell alcohol at all as the keg party did by charging all people a dollar to be admitted and pay for the kegs, and it got raided by deputies but most got away because of lookouts on the barn who saw the deputies coming down the pasture, and many used CBs, too.
And even where they're different they were still the same, like her community and mine had a lot of racial antipathies, but the races that were SOL were different. And beyond that I think the differences were mostly cosmetic.
However, those East Texas rednecks I think of would be extremely unlikely to come to your island (even if they had the money, which most don't) so you wouldn't see them. You probably get more suburban and sophisticated urban crowds (who tend to be white) and they would be pretty much as you see them, so I understand why you see white people as you do, as those are the white people you're most likely to see there.
