Looks do matter, that's where we get our initial attraction from, however the intellectual attraction is what's long lasting. Plus could you really be happy with a beautiful idiot? Maybe its jsut me but I'd feel guilty about that.

I always find people much more physically attractive when they seem clever. Or at least if we share interests or something.
So I suppose intellect and looks are intrinsically linked... At least in my gay brain.

In college, I once heard two girls talking:
G1: There's a new guy in our class today
G2: What's he look like?
G1: He's really cute like seems like a nice guy
G2: Is he thick? Their always thick when their cute.
G1: I dunno yet . . .
[I lived in N.I. where correct grammar is a rarity ]
The point is pretty clear though and to this day I have been trying to prove it wrong but to no avail. I was once fortunate but in heinsight unfortunate to meet a cute guy who was smart. The problem occured when he had eyes for another and my life was adversely affected. [When I fall for someone I really FALL for them :frown:]
I guess what I am trying to say is that in my experience you can only find one of three things:
Good looking but not so smart
Very smart but not so good looking
or
Very smart - at a price
[FYI: I am the thrid option, I come with a price one that requires emotional maturity chase me only if you can carry a great weight upon your shoulders]

But Wilem, why would you want to date a straight guy on whom your gay humour and gay swooning would be lost, however beautiful he might be? Just doesn't make sense.
